Root the Power is a Program of Wichita non-profit Destination Innovation Inc. We are a group of young people trying to motivate others to take a part in registering to vote, hitting the poles, be an active member in the upcoming election, and take part in beginning a conversation with the public and people in office. There are a great number of ways

to make changes and improvements! We choose to use our voices and connect with the people around us to strive for a great future!

A new recruitment season for Root The Power is right around the corner 👀✨
If you’re passionate about your community, leadership, and creating real change, this may be the space for you. Through Root The Power, youth have opportunities to engage in civic leadership through community events, conversations with local council members and representatives, and voter engagement efforts. This program is about helping young people use their voice, build confidence, and better understand the power they have within their communities.

We want to thank United Way of the Plains for investing in the work we are doing through Destination Innovation. This support directly impacts our program and the youth we serve every day. We create space for young people to lead civic engagement in their communities, learn how systems work, use their voices with confidence, and create real change. This is what it looks like when youth are not just included, but leading. We are grateful to continue growing and doing this work alongside our community!
