Happy first ever Vermont Library Day from the Dummerston Community Center and Library!

Thanks to all of the trustees, staff, Lydia's Friends, committee members, volunteers, and community members for making our library into what it is today!

Vermont is celebrating its first official Libraries Day on Monday, October 19th! It was signed into law earlier this year as Act 127 and will be held annually on the third Monday of October.

“Libraries are notoriously shy about calling attention to all they do,” said Vermont Library Association President Amy Williams. “Among their countless contributions, libraries foster healthy and positive social connections. In our age of isolation and digital addiction, libraries provide a welcome alternative and community. Stop by your library and join the celebration on the first-ever Vermont Libraries Day!”

Get ready for trick-or-treating in the West Dummerston Village!

The library will be a drop-off location for our Halloween Treat Drive! Donate candy and non-food treats in the weeks leading up to Halloween, to be passed out to the surrounding residents in Dummerston who get high-traffic trick-or-treaters on the night of Halloween.

There's a drop-off box outside of the library at 150 West St. for your donations!
