🌎🪔🌼 Multicultural Monday: Celebrations Around the World 🌼🪔🌎
Did you know?
This time of year brings meaningful cultural celebrations worldwide, including Diwali and Día de los Mu***os.
🪔 Diwali, celebrated by Hindus, Jains, Sikhs, and some Buddhists worldwide, is known as the Festival of Lights. Traditions vary among communities, but celebrations often include lighting diyas, gathering with loved ones, sharing food and sweets, and celebrating themes such as light, hope, and renewal.
🌼 Día de los Mu***os (Day of the Dead), celebrated on November 1 and 2 and especially associated with Mexico, is a time to lovingly remember and honor family members and loved ones who have passed away. Families may create ofrendas decorated with photographs, marigolds, candles, favorite foods, and other meaningful items.
While these celebrations have distinct histories and meanings, both show how traditions can connect people with family, community, and cultural heritage. ❤️
At Casa Guadalupe Multicultural Center, we celebrate opportunities to learn about the traditions that make our world—and our community—so wonderfully diverse.
