For 30 years, Court Appointed Special Advocates, CASA, has been serving children in the foster care system who have been neglected or abused.

CASA of Santa Cruz County advocates for children and youth, providing court appointed volunteers so each child in the dependency and juvenile court system feels cared for and connected with the people, families, and resources they need. By bringing the children friendship, health and educational resources and emotional support through weekly visits, our dedicated volunteers make a life-changing difference for children. And by helping the most vulnerable children, CASA’s work helps to build a stronger and more stable community for us all.

When siblings Mia and Pete moved into separate foster homes, Advocate Kat helped keep them close by arranging monthly visits and making the long drive so they could spend time together. Alongside her efforts to preserve their bond, she brought moments of joy to a difficult transition through bike rides, art projects, and outings to the beach and Boardwalk.

On behalf of CASA, we want to thank Teddy Bears with Heart for providing stuffed animal for the children we serve.

When children come to court being able to choose a stuffed animal of their own brings them excitement during what can sometimes be a difficult or stressful experience.

The children love seeing all the different stuffed animals and enjoy taking their time picking out their favorite one. It may seem like a small gesture but it makes a meaningful difference in helping them feel supported, comforted , and cared for.

Thank you for your kindness and generosity and for helping us bring a smile to the children we serve. We truly appreciate your support!
