Who says girls are too delicate to go camping!

Havent posted to this page in a bit, but 2558 is/was still out doing things. Postings will now be more prevalent on the Troop 558 Watsonville page as we are participating in the pilot program with our brother troop to be a blended Troop. It is basically what we had been doing with them anyways as many of the kids in the boys troops were brothers/cousins/close friends anyways. It will now be formalized.

We were happy to have our own girl's Troop for the couple of years of existence, but will be merging together with the boy's Troop due to their long history (97 years!) of which we will now be a part of!

As far as girl power... it is still around as the initial SPL for the combined Troop is one of the founders of of Troop 2558 Kristina.

Save the date —World Wetlands Day is fast approaching! Join us and our partners from Watsonville Wetlands Watch on Saturday, February 3rd from 10am to 1pm at Struve Slough to do wetland restoration work.

Watsonville is home to one of the largest remaining freshwater marshlands in California’s coastal zone. Our wetlands and sloughs provide resting spaces for many species of migrating birds and are home to 23 native plants and animal species that are listed as threatened, endangered, or of special concern. Join us in February to help preserve and restore these precious natural habitats.

Students may receive community service hours by participating in this event.
