Today is California Nonprofits Day, a reminder that nonprofits are often the people behind the work that keeps communities supported, connected, and moving forward.

At Families In Transition of Santa Cruz County, Inc., that means helping families navigate housing instability, crisis, and uncertainty with care and support.

If you want to support nonprofit work, one of the most meaningful things you can do is help more people see it. Share their work. Talk about the issues they’re addressing. Invite others to care alongside you.

Support the people doing the work. Nonprofits hold communities together. For more information visit the link tree in our bio.

This Mother’s Day, we’re celebrating the kind of care that often goes unseen.
In this message from Melisa Vierra, Executive Director. We’re reminded that care is not just a feeling, it’s action. It’s advocacy. It’s showing up, again and again, for your family.
And it’s at the heart of everything we do.

Last year, we let the kids at our annual fundraiser show us what “home” looks like to them. What we didn’t expect was getting a reminder of why we do the work we do.
For some kids, home was their house.
For others, home was their family.
At FIT, our main focus is helping to stabilize a family so they can thrive, not just survive.
Our annual fundraisers help support this cause.
We hope to see familiar faces and new friends at our event today supporting our community 🤍
