🫒💚 Happy National Olive Day – June 1! 💚🫒

Today, we celebrate one of California’s most iconic crops and the people who make it possible. California leads the nation in olive production, thanks to our amazing weather, fertile growing regions, and the hard work of dedicated growers and farmworkers. 🌞🌿

A shoutout to olive growers, farmworkers, processors, olive oil producers, packers, distributors, retailers, and everyone throughout the olive supply chain who help bring high-quality California-grown olives to tables across the country. 🫒❤️

Whether enjoyed as a snack, added to your favorite recipes, or transformed into world-class olive oil, California olives are a testament to the skill, dedication, and passion of the people behind them. 🌿🫒✨

Thank you for helping California continue to produce some of the finest olives and olive oil in the world. 💚🤍

Memorial Day Farm Tour - Green Mix Ranch

Since 1978, Jesus Calvillo has been driven by a single passion: growing the most delicious and nutritious fruits and vegetables possible. For decades, he worked behind the scenes of the industrial food system, supplying wholesale "big box" companies. However, in 2008, Jesus chose a new path. He wanted to see the faces of the people he was feeding, so he pivoted the business to sell directly to his neighbors through local farmers markets.

This commitment to the community only deepened during the COVID-19 pandemic, when Jesus partnered with fellow local growers to launch a home delivery service, ensuring that fresh, healthy food remained accessible even when the world slowed down.

Today, at Green Mix Ranch in Watsonville, Jesus continues to innovate. He has transformed the farm into a community hub for agritourism and education, hosting bi-annual tours and pioneering farm-to-school initiatives. By sharing his lifelong expertise and sustainable farming practices with the next generation, Jesus isn't just growing food—he's growing a healthier, more connected future for us all.
