Institute For Community Peace

Institute For Community Peace The Institute for Community Peace (ICP) is a national organization that transforms community by changing the structures that cause social problems.

The organization was founded in 1994 as the National Funding Collaborative on Violence Prevention as a response to the rise in youth violence in the country. More than two dozen foundations and two federal government agencies pooled resources to support the development of a national movement to effect the primary prevention of violence, including grant and technical support for twelve violence pre

vention demonstration collaboratives in diverse urban, suburban, rural and small town settings. ICP partnered intensively with eight of these sites for a full decade, all of which saw a reduction in violence through community engagement strategies.
