Including comments from the Alliance for Peacebuilding's Executive Director Liz Hume: “The U.S. has, at a time of record-breaking, increasing global violent conflict … dismantled its capacities, its expertise in peacebuilding and conflict prevention at a time when it’s needed the most....How do we reorganize and transform so that we take conflict prevention and peacebuilding … and center it and prioritize it in our strategies?”

Executive Director Hume will be speaking more about at our annual conference in July. Peacebuilding on the global scale and in the U.S. face a number of challenges - challenges important to face head-on.

At an Aid Report briefing, experts discussed program terminations, the unexpected ways some organizations are adapting, and what it would take to restore peacebuilding as a central pillar of U.S. foreign policy.

As we honor this milestone, we’re also recognizing the retirement of our longtime Director of Advocacy, Jonathan Pearson, whose 22 years of service to the Peace Corps and the RPCV community have left a lasting impact.
