🟠 DOCTORS AGAINST GENOCIDE | GAZA

When Nurse Eileen broke her shoulder, she received immediate emergency care, pain relief, and treatment.

But her injury raised a heartbreaking question: What happens to someone with the same injury in Gaza?

In Gaza, patients with far more devastating injuries have no access to ambulances, functioning emergency rooms, CT scans, or even basic pain medications. Many are left to endure unimaginable pain, untreated, on the floor of a torn, overcrowded tent, with nowhere to turn.

And as we bear witness to this suffering, a B-2 stealth bomber flew overhead, a stark reminder of the staggering resources poured into military power while people in Gaza are denied the most basic medical care.

The irony is impossible to ignore. Billions of dollars are available for war and weapons, yet the resources needed to save lives, relieve suffering, and provide essential healthcare remain desperately out of reach for Palestinians.

Same injuries. Same pain. Same humanity. But vastly different chances of survival.

No human being should be denied medical care because of where they live or where they were born. No child, parent, nurse, or patient should be left to suffer without treatment while immense wealth and resources are directed toward destruction.

Healthcare is a human right, not a privilege. Protecting it is our medical and moral obligation.

October 17, 2023 — Al-Ahli Hospital, Gaza.

Three years ago, the world witnessed the massacre of hundreds of civilians seeking refuge at a hospital. More than 450 lives were reported lost.

What followed was not accountability, but the normalization of attacks on hospitals, healthcare workers, and patients across Gaza and the West Bank.

Three years later, the world cannot say it did not know. The victims showed us. The world watched.

Healthcare must never be a target. Genocide must never be tolerated. No perpetrator should be above the law.

Believe the victims. Demand accountability. Never normalize the unimaginable.

We will remember. We will remind. We will demand justice.

🟠 WHEN MEDICINE HAS A CONSCIENCE, SILENCE IS NOT AN OPTION.

World-renowned cardiologist Dr. Robert Detrano has dedicated his life to saving lives and healing children’s hearts.

He traveled all the way from California to Washington, DC, determined to lend his voice to the children of Gaza.

The voices of more than 22,000 children murdered in Gaza would not let him sleep. His conscience would not allow him to remain silent.

Dr. Detrano reminds us that the greatness of a physician is measured not only by the lives they save, but also by the lives they refuse to abandon.

His courage is an inspiration—and a profound reminder to physicians, cardiologists, and medical associations worldwide of their moral and professional obligations.

If one physician can overcome so much to stand for humanity, how can the medical profession remain silent?

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

For women in Gaza, awareness is not enough when lifesaving treatment is out of reach.

Dr. Manar is a dentist, a mother of four, and a woman with breast cancer who urgently needs radiotherapy.

Genocide is a public health catastrophe. Cancer does not wait. Treatment cannot wait.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month must include Palestinian women.

Awareness means little without access to diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up. For women in Gaza, the destruction of healthcare and barriers to lifesaving care make that access a matter of survival.

Every woman deserves the chance to detect cancer early, receive treatment, and live. Our solidarity must include demanding access to cancer care, medical evacuation, and the protection of patients and healthcare workers.

This October, let’s turn awareness into action. Palestinian women must not be forgotten.

White coats. One voice. A shared commitment to humanity.

On September 24, Doctors Against Genocide brought more than 200 medical professionals and supporters to Washington, D.C., for 1000 White Coats for Humanity Day.

Dr. Mansoor Malik, winner of the 2026 Chester M. Pierce Human Rights Award from the American Psychiatric Association for his work on moral injury and minority health, and was later censored by the same organization that gave him the award: "As a psychiatrist, I was trained to bear witness to suffering, to feel empathy, to validate my patient's pain, to confront my own biases, and to advocate for the vulnerable and upholding the fundamental principles of human dignity."

"Today, I'm deeply ashamed of my profession, not for its ideals, but for its deafening silence in the face of an unspeakable atrocity...If we cannot condemn the deliberate killing of children, we have no moral authority left...Shame without action is useless. It's time to speak, to resist, and to reclaim the moral conscious of medicine before history judges us an accomplice to the genocide."

We then held more than 35 meetings on Capitol Hill, advocating for an end to the obstruction of medical aid to Gaza, protection of civilians and healthcare workers, healthcare as a human right, protection of immigrant communities, and public investment in human needs—not warfare.

Healthcare professionals cannot remain silent when public policy places human life at risk.

Protecting health means protecting humanity—everywhere.

Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

"We are that small group, and will continue to speak out for our colleagues, for our patients, and for all of humanity."

On September 24, Doctors Against Genocide brought more than 200 medical professionals and supporters to Washington, D.C., for 1000 White Coats for Humanity Day.

Matthew, an educator from Indiana, shared his eyewitness testimony about the increase in settler violence and the "slow genocide" he witnessed during his stay in the occupied West Bank this past summer. "American citizens are making tax deductible donations to fund this process of ethnic cleansing that's going on in the West Bank" through 501(c)(3) organizations like the "One israel Fund."

We then held more than 35 meetings on Capitol Hill, advocating for an end to the obstruction of medical aid to Gaza, protection of civilians and healthcare workers, healthcare as a human right, protection of immigrant communities, and public investment in human needs—not warfare.
