Interested in ensuring that all Rhode Island Voter Polling Places are accessible? The Governor’s Commission on Disabilities (GCD) has an opportunity for you! For every election, the GCD recruits volunteers to survey Voter Polling Places to ensure that all polling places are free of barriers that would prevent someone with a disability from voting.

The GCD is recruiting volunteers to survey Voter Polling Places for the Statewide Primary on September 9, 2026, and for the Statewide General Election on November 3, 2026. Each survey will take an average of 15 minutes and can be completed at any time on election day. Volunteers can use our online survey or a print version.

The data we receive from our volunteers enables us to communicate with the local Board of Canvassers to remove barriers to voting on election day or at the next election.

Volunteers will be required to attend a GCD Polling Monitor Training. If you would like to volunteer, please email the Assistant ADA Coordinator for Employment and Services, Crystal Martin, at [email protected]
