To each person who has been on this journey with us — raising awareness, taking the time to drop off at the Hope Chests, thinking of others — our 💛s are full.

To each person who relies on these community food cabinets to fill in some gaps, we see you and will continue to rally for you.

Grateful for all that this generous and compassionate community allowed us to do in July, August, and September! 🫶🏼

We don’t get to do the work we do without YOU! While prices of nearly all basic necessities continue to rise and summer months create additional barriers to food access (while schools are out), our programs ensured:

💛 A steady schedule of meal deliveries

💛 5 Hope Chests stocked (shout out tonNPYSA FC - North Providence Youth Soccer for their amazing food drive during opening day!)

💛 More Grab & Go kits to help fill the gaps that Summer vacation creates for too many

💛 Expand our network & welcome Family Service of RI and Blackstone Valley Community Action Program

As long as our neighbors are not able to meet their basic food needs, our work will continue, with your support.

It takes a village and we 💛 ours!

BIG thanks to Cassandra from Great Aunt Louise's who made her way to Blackstone Valley Community Action Program yesterday to deliver pasta & meatballs 🍝 topped with her famous Family Sauce 🇮🇹

Blackstone Valley Community Action Program serves more than 12,000 families across Pawtucket, Central Falls, Cumberland, Lincoln and Woonsocket and deliveries like this one make a difference!

Yesterday’s meal made with Purpose & Love by our friends at Rhody Roots for students at East Bay Community Action Program Head Start @ Mary V. Quirk!

Mac ‘n Cheese 🫕 with broccoli 🥦 & grilled chicken 🍗 is always a fan favorite.

We are thankful for our community that works together to get meals like this one into the tiny hands of those who need them the most. back in Warren and full 💛s here at PWP!

Sunday at the Hope Chests 💛

Our community food cabinets don’t offer a hand out, they offer a hand up.

66% of households assisted by the RI Community Food Bank pantry network include either a child or a senior citizen, and 69% of households with children have at least one employed adult.

The Hope Chests will remain a critical program for us until food insecurity no longer exists in our state. That means all people in a household, at all times, have physical and economic access to sufficient safe and nutritious food that meets their dietary needs and food preferences for an active and healthy life.

We are grateful for everyone who has dropped off an item or two, hosted food drives, donates, shares and helps us raise greater awareness. 💛

With another long weekend on the horizon, we started our Grab & Go deliveries today.

48% of students in Rhode Island qualify for free or reduced- priced meals — that’s just about 1 in 2! So, when they’re not in school, that means accessing a nutritious and balanced meal becomes harder for so many.

Our Grab & Go program is a convenient way to get healthier food options into the hands of those who need them. Please consider gifting a kit or two — only $10 provides 2-3 days worth of shelf-stable breakfast items. Donation link is in the comments. 🥣

Sunday at the Hope Chests 💛…

Today, we’re hunkered down, taking care of last minute details for tomorrow’s The Sport and Leisure Classic (a little Nor’easter can’t stop us!), but rainy weather doesn’t stop hunger either!

The goal of our community Hope Chests is to provide easy and safe access to nonperishable items to individuals and families who need them.

They also offer an opportunity for anyone who finds themselves with a little extra to positively impact their neighbors through this community-sponsored program.​

Unfortunately, too many households are experiencing food insecurity at record-high rates — and that means the shelves need to be restocked more often lately.

We have Hope Chests in 5 communities as a response to this growing crisis: Leave what you can, take what you need.

Together, we DO make a difference!
