kage Foundation is to not only bring awareness, but to bring hope and happiness to the real heroes battling something greater than all of us. The mission is carried out by sending "hero" care packages to children battling cancer. Each Hero Package is sponsored by a participating law enforcement agency, military rank, business, family, and/or donors, and contains memorabilia, a sponsor photograph, Hero Package Foundation t-shirt, and a collection of items tailored to the child’s individual wants and needs. We look forward to your kind support and participation in our journey.

Hero Package #234 is for Super Hero Addison. This special package is sponsored by the Lucier family in honor and loving memory of Kerri Lucier.🦸‍♀️

Super Hero Addison is just 1 year old and is courageously battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Childhood AML is an aggressive cancer of the blood and bone marrow that crowds out healthy blood cells. It is the second most common form of leukemia in children.

Addison was first diagnosed on October 13, 2025. Since her diagnosis, she has undergone five rounds of chemotherapy and spent more than 150 days inpatient. She is currently in the recovery phase following round five and will soon enter the maintenance phase of treatment.

Addison, you are so young, yet you continue to fight with a spirit that is larger than life. On behalf of the Lucier family and myself, we want you to know how incredibly proud we are of you. Keep fighting, sweet girl. The love, strength, and support surrounding you are endless.💫

P.S. I am so excited to share that we were able to grant Addison’s wish for a Step2 Water Table (not pictured)!🌊

RI ✈️📦 AZ

*Kerri Lucier was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) and began her fight inpatient just one day after her 58th birthday on April 25, 2024. Kerri faced this battle with incredible courage, knowing she had so many people she loved to fight for, including her granddaughter Emerson, who also battled this awful disease three separate times. Sadly, while receiving inpatient chemotherapy, Kerri contracted a respiratory virus and passed away peacefully on May 24, 2024, surrounded by those she loved most.

Kerri was truly the definition of an angel here on Earth. She was deeply involved with THPF and the childhood cancer community, always giving of herself without ever seeking recognition. Her loss is immeasurable, but so is the love and legacy she left behind. We love you, Kerri. This one’s for you.💛🦋*

THPF Family: I had the honor of introducing you all to local THPF Super Hero Sophia (Hero Package recipient #55) back in December 2021. At the time, she was just two years old and courageously battling choroid plexus carcinoma, a rare brain tumor. Since then, Sophia has undergone two brain tumor resection surgeries, six cycles of chemotherapy, a stem cell transplant, and 30 days of proton therapy radiation.

Her cancer journey continued when an MRI on July 14, 2023 revealed a tumor recurrence on her left side. She immediately underwent another brain surgery, followed by five days of SRT radiation and twelve cycles of chemotherapy.

This warrior is now six years old and facing another brain tumor battle. Unfortunately, Sophia’s parents received devastating news after an MRI on May 6, 2026 showed yet another tumor recurrence. Just thirteen days ago, Sophia underwent another brain surgery and will now continue her fight with five rounds of SRT radiation and chemotherapy once again.

I had the honor of visiting my little hero yesterday and delivered her second Hero Package — Barbie themed, of course — filled with love, comfort, and joy.📦✨

Super Hero Sophia, you truly are the definition of a warrior. You are incredibly strong, even though you should never have to be. I am constantly in awe of the light you radiate to everyone around you. I am so unbelievably proud of you and feel extremely lucky to know you. Keep kicking cancer’s butt. I will always be here for you. Love you always.💛

THPF Family, I am asking you all to please keep this hero in your thoughts and prayers as she continues her fight. 🎗️

I introduced you all to local THPF Super Hero Madi (Hero Package recipient #226) back in September 2025. Madi is now 15 years old and continues to courageously battle Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma (NPC), after first being diagnosed in February 2025.🦸🏻‍♀️

In April of this year, Madi and her family received the heartbreaking news that her cancer had spread throughout her body, including previously treated areas. Despite such devastating news, Madi continues to face this fight like a true warrior, never letting it discourage her spirit or strength.
Madi’s current treatment plan includes a new chemotherapy regimen along with immunotherapy, and her next PET scan is scheduled for May 27th.

This past Thursday, I had the privilege of visiting my hero and bringing her a follow-up Hero Package filled with comfort, love, and a little bit of joy.✨

Madi, you are truly inspiring. There is no doubt in my mind that you will continue fighting with the same incredible strength you’ve shown since day one. Please never forget that I will always be here for you. I love you, Madi.🫶

THPF family, I’m asking you all to please keep this hero in your thoughts and prayers throughout her battle, with extra prayers leading up to her upcoming PET scan. 🎗

I’ve been away for a bit longer than I ever wanted to be—and I truly missed being here with all of you.

For those who may not know, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2023 (two years after starting THPF). Since then, my health journey has been filled with hospital visits, surgeries, side effects, new diagnoses, medications, bed rest, and more unexpected curveballs than I could have ever imagined. About a month ago, I experienced severe rib pain that led to another hospital visit, where I was diagnosed with broken ribs—without any trauma (a red flag in the cancer world). A bone scan confirmed the breaks and showed some abnormal findings. I have an oncology appointment next week for blood work and additional testing. For now, I’m home, comfortable, and staying optimistic.

Now that we’ve gotten that part out of the way… I’m back! And I’m so excited to start fulfilling Hero Package requests again and continue the mission I began five years ago. To all of my childhood cancer heroes and their families—thank you for your patience. Please give me a little time to get back into the rhythm of things. I promise every personalized Hero “care” package will be made with the same love and intention, and will be worth the wait.

I also want to sincerely apologize for the brief pause here at THPF. I never imagined that just two years after starting this foundation, I would be facing a cancer diagnosis of my own. But I promise to continue using my journey to raise awareness, and to bring even more comfort and support to our incredible warriors. THPF—and I—will always be here for you. Because in this family, no one will ever fight alone.

Stay tuned for tomorrow’s post where we’ll be announcing the Third Annual THPF Awards Ceremony… and a brand new, family-friendly fundraiser. 💛

International Childhood Cancer Day 2026🎗️
A global initiative dedicated to raising awareness about childhood cancer and standing in solidarity with children and adolescents battling this awful disease — as well as survivors and their families.

Each year, more than 400,000 children and adolescents under the age of 20 are diagnosed with cancer worldwide. The Hero Package Foundation remains steadfast in its mission to raise awareness for all childhood cancers, bring hope and happiness to our brave little heroes in the fight, honor our angels, and support the strength and resilience of our survivors and their families.

Today, I invite you to share the name and diagnosis of your childhood cancer warrior or angel in the comments below. Let’s speak their names, honor their journeys, and stand together in love, remembrance, and hope. “No one fights alone.”💛

February 8th is Carrigan Nelson Day|Cancer Warrior Day.💕

THPF Hero Carrigan Nelson courageously battled osteosarcoma for seven years. Despite relentless treatments beginning at just 18 years old in 2019, Carrigan continued to radiate joy, kindness, compassion, determination, bravery, and unwavering positivity to everyone she met.

Carrigan’s passion, kindness, and genuine care for others will forever leave an imprint on our hearts. In honor of this beautiful soul, let today serve as a reminder to do something kind for someone else. She never gave up—and neither should we.🦋

In Carrigan’s honor, I created a dozen hero bags filled with some of her favorite things for teenage childhood cancer patients currently receiving treatment at The Tomorrow Fund. We miss you endlessly, Carrigan. Happy 25th birthday in heaven.💫

Hi THPF family 💛
I’m so sorry for the delay in sharing an update and rolling out the next set of hero packages. Ever since my own cancer diagnosis, things medically have been challenging. Symptoms, diagnoses, and treatments can change day by day — something I know resonates deeply with all of you. I truly appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued support of THPF’s mission amid the chaos of my own journey.

I wish I had some breakthrough news to share, but I’m still working closely with my doctors to find the right medications to help improve my symptoms and overall quality of life. That said, I’m eager to begin fulfilling hero package requests again, and I’m excited to share that I’ll slowly be getting back into things this month — at the pace my body allows, of course.

If you’ve already submitted a hero package request for your little warrior, I’ll begin responding in the order they were received. For those who have reached out asking how you can help, I’ll be sharing more information very soon. THPF is fully funded by myself and donations from the community. One hundred percent of donations go directly to our childhood cancer warriors. I do not make any money from this — and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

This week, we reached 1.5k followers on Instagram. 🎉 Please continue sharing THPF’s social media pages. Exposure — not only for THPF, but for our warriors’ individual stories — is such a powerful way to advocate for childhood cancer. We are always stronger in numbers.✨

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your patience, love, and support through the years. Please feel free to DM or message me here with any questions, comments, or concerns. I promise, there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think of you all. 🎗

World Cancer Day 2026 🎗️
To my THPF family, sponsors, and supporters—on this World Cancer Day, I want to share a video from a truly special day. This past October, I was honored to be named “Hero of the Match” by the New England Revolution. Before kickoff, I stepped onto the field as the announcer spotlighted The Hero Package Foundation, the work we do, my best friend Emerson’s story, and the ongoing fight to advocate for children battling cancer. Any opportunity to shine a light on our extraordinary THPF Heroes and Angels will always be an absolute honor to me.

Yesterday marked a major step forward in that fight. The Mikaela Naylon Give Kids a Chance Act was officially signed into U.S. law. For far too long, children with cancer have had fewer treatment options and limited access to clinical trials compared to adults. This law helps close that gap by advancing pediatric drug research and expanding hope for our kids.

Today, I ask you to join me in celebrating our survivors, remembering our angels, and honoring the heroes still fighting with unimaginable courage. I promise to stand beside you—every step, every fight, always. Cancer will NEVER win!💛✨
