Meet Pete.
Pete came to the Southold Animal Shelter on May 28th after being found wandering alone as a stray. Since then, no one has come looking for him. No family. No familiar face. No one to bring him home.
Now Pete spends his days in our cat room surrounded by other cats, kind staff, and loving volunteers who do their best to make him feel safe. He gets treats, head scratches, and gentle arms to hold him — but it’s not the same as having a home of his own.
Most days, Pete hides. Quietly waiting. Only coming out when someone calls for him.
Pete is incredibly sweet. He loves being held and melts into head scratches, soaking up every bit of affection he can get.
Pete deserves someone to love him forever. He’s waiting… and hoping his person finds him soon.
Please visit our Southold location at 165 Peconic Lane any time between 10am-3pm to meet Pete. No appointments necessary.
