Our animals are primarily cared for in foster homes since we do not have a shelter.

Adoption Highlight, Zaki – the Ultimate Orange Sweetheart

Looking for a gentle, purr-filled companion to brighten up your home? Say hello to Zaki, a stunning 4-year-old orange tabby who perfectly balances a playful spirit with an incredibly gentle heart.

Zaki is a total joy to have around. He loves zooming through the house with his foster cat brothers, chasing after string toys, and hunting laser pointers. Once he burns off his energy, he is an expert lounge companion who will happily settle in for a long nap on the sofa. Zaki is an affectionate boy who absolutely loves belly rubs and will start purring as soon as you pet him. Kamora, 2yo, is delightfully sweet, very playful, and loves head and neck scratches. She absolutely loves rolling around and doing her purr-meows on her favorite astroturf mat, kicking her catnip banana, attacking her catnip sushi, and grooming herself on her bed.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Paws is looking for an Adoption Coordinator to work with our adoption team. This person works with the group to follow up with potential adopters. The role time commitment varies widely, for approximately 1-4 hours per week. If you are looking to make a difference, by helping PAWS with a small weekly commitment this is a job for you.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Works with the adoption team that accesses applications from potential adopters and validates their suitability for adoption.

The Adoption Coordinator is responsible for following up with applicants that are accepted or rejected for adoption by email.

• Must be detail oriented and can keep track of multiple applications in process
• Writes well and high proficiency with email and computers
• Kind and compassionate manner
• Sense of urgency for follow up

Honoring a Legacy of Compassion 🐾

We are incredibly humbled and deeply moved to share that PAWS Wakefield has received a transformative donation in memory of Annamarie Taylor, the late founder of Animal Umbrella .

While our hearts are heavy with the loss of such an incredible champion for animals, we are deeply grateful that Annamarie’s legacy of love lives on. This generous gift ensures a bright, stable future for hundreds of vulnerable cats and kittens.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Animal Umbrella, and will carry forward Annamarie’s life work of protecting defenseless animals. Thank you to our community for standing by us, and to Animal Umbrella for trusting us to carry on this vital work.
