Even though Paws 4 A Cure is unable to be at our favorite event Pet Rock Festival, we hope that you will be going tomorrow!! 🐾🚨 OK, PEOPLE. PET ROCK FEST IS THIS SUNDAY. THIS. SUNDAY. 🚨🐾

At this point, we're just going to assume you've cleared your calendar. 😂

Come spend the day with 50+ animal welfare organizations and rescues, Pups In The Air flying disc dogs, police K-9 demonstrations, rescued farm animals, wildlife ambassadors, Goat & Bunny Yoga, the Doggie Water Park, an agility challenge, the Rescue & Shelter Pet Parade, dog contests, our cat photo contest, the Juno Hero Awards, a HUGE raffle, shopping, vegetarian food and more.

And because apparently that wasn't enough, we've also got live music all afternoon from Decades by DeZyne, The Black Souls, The Dirty Genes and Solmere.

Bring the dog. Bring the kids. Bring your friends. Bring that person who says, “Ohhhh, I forgot that was this weekend” every single year. We are reminding you NOW. 😂

New England's biggest celebration of animals and the people who help them is back!

For 28 years, Pet Rock Fest has brought animal lovers together for one enormous day devoted to kindness, community and helping animals — and we're doing it all over again Oct. 4 at the Lancaster Fairgrounds.

Bring the family. Bring the dog. Come to adopt, learn, shop, eat, listen to some great music or simply spend five hours surrounded by people who love animals as much as you do.

At the heart of Pet Rock Fest are more than 50 animal welfare organizations representing just about every corner of the animal world — shelters and rescues, farm animal sanctuaries, wildlife rehabilitators, rabbit rescues, service and therapy animal organizations, lost-pet recovery groups, animal advocates and more.

They're the reason we do this.

🍴 COME HUNGRY

Pet Rock Fest is a meat-free festival, and this year's food lineup includes two trucks making their Pet Rock debut.

Tandoor & Curry on Wheels is bringing vegetable samosas, samosa chaat, spring rolls, chana masala, paneer tikka masala, vegetable curry, veggie burgers and more.

Souped Up Food will be serving everything from creamy butternut squash soup and a vegan Thai rainbow wrap to grilled cheddar with apple chutney, harvest bowls and loaded tater tots.

And Baked by Danny will be there with cookies and other baked goodies because obviously we need dessert.

❤️ WHY PET ROCK?

Pet Rock Fest began in 1999 with a simple idea: animals need people willing to speak up for them.

Since then, Pet Rock Fest has donated nearly $1 million to animal-related charities and causes, supporting everything from shelters and rescues to sanctuaries, education, advocacy and animal welfare reform.

Twenty-eight years later, the festival has grown and changed, but the mission hasn't.

We believe the animal welfare community is stronger when it comes together. Pet Rock provides the gathering place — but the rescues, shelters, sanctuaries, rehabilitators, advocates, volunteers and organizations doing this work every day are the heart of it.

They're the HOW behind our WHY.

Paws 4 A Cure is temporarily not accepting application for assistance as I am having spinal cord surgery in the morning. I hate not being able to help the dogs and cats in need of urgent veterinary care treatment, but I need to focus on my health and recovery. Meet Michi, an adorable 3-year-old pastel calico cat from Minnesota who has been diagnosed with Ovarian Remnant Syndrome (ovarian tissue remaining after her spay). Michi needs exploratory abdominal surgery that is estimated to cost $3,305.68.

Michi's mom is trying to raise an additional $600 so she can continue receiving the treatment she desperately needs.

Michi's Story
“Michi is a three-year-old pastel calico who came into my life as a stray in September 2024. She began following my colleagues and me around the neighborhood during a lunchtime walk, and after a couple of months of getting to know each other, she became a permanent part of my life. Since then, she’s become my beloved companion and adventure buddy. We love picnicking, hiking, paddling, and biking together, and she brings so much joy and curiosity to every adventure.

Michi was spayed in November 2024, but a few months later began showing signs of heat, including vocalizing and mating behaviors. She was evaluated in March 2026 and diagnosed with ovarian remnant syndrome, meaning ovarian tissue remained after her spay. Behavioral medications, including gabapentin, did not resolve her symptoms. Her veterinary team now recommends an abdominal exploratory surgery to locate and remove the remaining ovarian tissue, both to address her ongoing symptoms and reduce the risk of future complications.

We have received a generous $400 Paws 4 A Cure grant, but we still need to raise $600 to help cover Michi’s surgery. Every donation, no matter the size, brings her one step closer to getting the care she needs and returning to the happy, adventurous life she loves. Thank you for caring about Michi, supporting her journey, and helping us give this very special little cat many more adventures to come!”

Sweet, little Huxley is limping while waiting for enough funds to being able to schedule his surgery. Huxley needs surgery to amputate his leg. The estimate from his veterinarian shows that his surgery will cost approximately $2,040. Can you please help him and his mom by making a tax-deductible donation towards his surgery? Peetie's Story
“Peetie is a nine-year-old CHI mix with an interesting, serious, stoic demeanor yet a very playful spirit. He came into my life as a puppy during a very challenging time. Peetie has proven to be a source of comfort and companionship, and he truly means the world to me.

In early August, Peetie started shaking his head. This quickly progressed into vigorous head shaking with every step he took and a pronounced head tilt to the left, making simple routines like going for potty walks incredibly difficult and uncomfortable for him. I took him to the vet, where he was diagnosed with a severe bilateral ear infection. Initially, he was prescribed antibiotics and a topical ointment. Unfortunately, his ears were far too sensitive to apply the ointment, and he had an adverse reaction to the antibiotics. This required a second vet visit, where they prescribed a specialized liquid ear drop treatment. This new medication requires two applications spaced ten days apart.

We have successfully administered the first dose and are halfway through his treatment, but I am not in a financial position to cover these additional veterinary costs on my own. Peetie’s second dosing is August 31, and that will be followed by a final visit to ensure the medication took its course, and all is well. We still need to raise $100 to cover his remaining medical care.

Tank should be running, playing, and enjoying life with the family who loves him. Instead, he is struggling to walk comfortably because he has torn cranial cruciate ligaments (CCLs) in both knees.

His estimated surgical cost is approximately $5,000 per knee. His completely torn ligament needs to be addressed first, with the second surgery expected approximately two months later.
