All youth planning to participate in this year’s 4‑H Market Livestock Ribbon Auction are expected to attend the meeting on June 15 at 6:30 p.m. This meeting helps exhibitors feel confident, prepared, and ready to represent themselves and 4‑H with pride.

What We’ll Cover:
Youth and families will spend time learning, practicing, and preparing for a successful auction experience.

The meeting will include:
- Participant expectations — We’ll review what exhibitors need to know before, during, and after the auction, including communication, professionalism, and follow‑through.
- Auction roles and responsibilities — We’ll identify who helps make the auction possible and how youth can, and their families will need to volunteer to make the event successful.
- Talking with businesses — Youth will practice how to introduce themselves, explain their project, and invite businesses to support the auction. This includes sample scripts, confidence‑building tips, and real‑life scenarios.

Last night’s storm left standing water in the arena, so we’re canceling tonight’s 4 H Horse Open Ride Night for safety.
We can’t wait to see everyone back in the saddle next week on Thursday, June 18!

St. Louis County 4‑H youth are invited to join us for a hands‑on Poultry Showmanship Practice! This practice session is open to all enrolled 4‑H members, whether you’re brand new to poultry or preparing for the 2026 Showcase and County Fair.

What Youth Will Learn
- Showmanship basics — How to confidently handle and present poultry in the ring
- Proper bird handling — Safety, control, and calm animal management
- Judge expectations — What judges evaluate and how to earn top marks
- Care and preparation — Grooming, cleanliness, and bird readiness

Youth will rotate through stations led by experienced volunteers and project leaders, giving them the chance to practice skills, ask questions, and build confidence before fair season.

4-H Horse Clinic
St. Louis County 4-H is excited to offer a 4-H Horse Clinic with Black Diamond Equine on Saturday, June 20, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. This clinic will provide youth with hands-on instruction and learning opportunities designed to build horsemanship skills, confidence, and a stronger partnership between horse and rider.

Clinics with Black Diamond Equine focus on skill development, safe riding practices, and individualized feedback to support youth at a variety of experience levels. This is a great opportunity for members to learn from experienced equine professionals while connecting with other 4-H horse project members.

Who Can Participate?
- All youth must be in 3rd grade or older.
- All youth must be currently enrolled in 4-H to participate.
- All youth are required to wear an approved riding helmet in accordance with 4-H safety policy.
- Youth must have a current negative Coggins test on file at the St. Louis County Extension Office before the event.

Cost - $60

Register in 4-H Online. The deadline to register is Thursday, June 11th.
