Since 1939, provides free civil legal services to qualifying low-income residents of Miami-Dade County by dedicated staff attorneys and volunteers via “Put Something Back,” the official provider of pro bono assistance for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit. The agency provides direct representation by dedicated staff attorneys and referrals to volunteer attorneys primarily in the areas of: Family Law,
Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, Human Sex Trafficking, Guardianship, Probate, Wills, Housing, Heirs Property Protection and Prevention, Consumer, Collection, Bankruptcy, Child and Teen Advocacy, Guardian Ad Litem, Nonprofit, Intellectual Property, Patent, Bylaws, Taxation, Small Claims and other Civil matters. Put Something Back, a joint pro bono project of the Courts, Bar and Dade Legal Aid, offers an array of pro bono opportunities for Miami-Dade’s 15,000+ attorneys, including law firms, corporate counsel, government lawyers, retired and emeritus lawyers, voluntary bar associations, law schools and others seeking to give back their time, talent and resources. Put Something Back serves as the pro bono clearinghouse for the circuit and matches pre-screened clients with attorneys seeking to take on pro bono cases. Other opportunities include volunteering at pro se clinics, staffing a legal helpline, mentoring, donating, and presenting at CLE seminars.
