Many people don’t realize how important everyday choice is, or how often it is taken for granted.

For many adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, opportunities to make simple daily decisions can sometimes be limited. But those small choices matter deeply, from what to wear, to what activities to join, to who to sit with at lunch. These everyday moments are a big part of independence, dignity, and feeling in control of your own life.

At Pathways, we are intentional about building choice into each day. We offer students meaningful options whenever possible because we want them to feel comfortable, supported, and respected as adults with their own voices and preferences.

Choice matters, and everyone deserves it πŸ’š

πŸ’š Recently, a group of students from Kirk of the Hills spent their morning volunteering in our classrooms!
Our students loved getting to spend time with them, make new connections, and build friendships. Thank you to these amazing volunteers for bringing so much energy, kindness, and encouragement to Pathways. We are grateful for community partners who help make our days even brighter!

Today we're giving a big shoutout to our amazing Blue Teachers! πŸ’™πŸ’š

Every day, they show up with compassion, encouragement, and a genuine commitment to helping our students learn, grow, and thrive. They make a lasting impact on the lives of the students and families they serve.

Thank you, Blue Team, for bringing so much energy, positivity, and heart to Pathways. Our students, families, and staff are better because of you, and we are so grateful for all that you do! πŸ’š

We are so close to our goal! πŸ’š Pathways is now just $505,000 away from meeting our $13 million need for the Building Pathways to Lifelong Learning capital campaign.

This campaign will help us expand learning opportunities, strengthen accessibility, and create more spaces where adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities can grow, connect, and thrive in community.

We are grateful for every gift, every share, and every person who believes in this work. We are in the final stretch and your support matters now more than ever. πŸ’š

Big things are happening at Pathways! πŸ’š

Our new home is under construction, and we couldn't be more excited about what it means for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Tulsa.

With more space comes more opportunity. Our new campus will allow us to serve more students, expand programming, and create even more opportunities for learning, friendship, and community.

Interested in joining Pathways? Now is a great time to join our waitlist. As we prepare for this exciting next chapter, we're connecting with prospective students and families who want to learn more about enrollment opportunities.

Learn more and join the waitlist at pathwaysok.org/waitlist.

The future is bright, and we can't wait to welcome even more students into the Pathways community. πŸ’š

Community is more than a group of people in the same place. It’s a network of relationships where people support, include, and rely on one another πŸ’š
For adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, community plays an important role in building communication skills, independence, and social connection. It creates opportunities to practice everyday interactions, form friendships, and feel a sense of belonging.
At Pathways, we see community as something we build together, where every person is valued, included, and supported to grow.

Move over baseball cards πŸ’š Our students made their very own trading cards in class!
Each student got to design a card that reflected who they are, choosing to feature their interests, hobbies, and favorite things. For example, Haley created a card inspired by her favorite musical!
This activity was a great way to encourage creativity, communication, and self-expression, while also giving students a chance to share more about themselves with their peers. The best part was seeing the pride in their finished cards and the excitement as they traded and talked about them together.

Every movement matters πŸ’š
In our classrooms, we know that staying active is important for everyone, and we make it fun and accessible for all of our students. Recently, our Blue classroom had a blast getting moving with a creative fitness activityβ€”drumming along with pool noodles!
There was so much energy, laughter, and engagement as students built coordination, rhythm, and strength while having fun together. It was a simple activity that turned into a big classroom favorite πŸ’š

We are hiring a Curriculum Coordinator! πŸ’š

This role is a big part of what we do every day. Creating learning experiences that are engaging, accessible, and meaningful for the adults we serve. Our curriculum helps students build confidence, grow skills, and work toward their personal goals in community.

We are looking for someone who loves education, cares deeply about people, and wants to help create learning that truly meets students where they are.

If this sounds like you, or someone you know, we would love to connect. Come be part of the Pathways team. Learn more at pathwaysok.org/careers
