AFT ID's goal is to provide underprivileged youth access to musical instruments / tools that may not be available to them otherwise.
(1)

The mission of AFT ID is to expand the positive influence of music in future generations by providing underprivileged youth access to instruments / tools and musical / life skills. The AFT-ID team will identify individuals “givers” who have underused instruments and would like to “Play it Forward” by donating their instruments to AFT-ID. The AFT-ID team will work to identify underprivileged “players” who would benefit from having access to their own instruments. Cash donations accepted at

Another example of the pledge in action! AFT-ID awarded this instrument to Alex a while ago. He decided to switch from music to football, so he gave his trombone back to AFT-ID. Now we can clean and repair it and get this trombone ready to award to another student in need of an instrument.

We love to see awardees taking part in our initiative! Back in August, Aeon was awarded a 3/4 cello by AFT-ID. Aeon reached back out to us saying she was ready for a full size instrument. She was able to trade in her 3/4 with AFT-ID for a full size cello! We are so excited to have the 3/4 cello available for awarding to another individual while Aeon continues her musical journey through AFT-ID's pledge.

Thank you to Mike Seals for donating the cello and Brooke McCain at Saied Music Co. for repairing the bow. This process truly takes a village!
