A BIG thank-you to Ms. Brook Smith and her class at Troy Junior High for supporting the Imagination Library of Miami County!

These super-cool students sold popcorn to classmates to raise funds to put books in the hands of local children. We’re so grateful for their hard work and generosity for young readers! 📫 ❤️📚

We appreciate the support from the City of Piqua and its community! More than 1,100 Piqua children currently receive books each month by mail to their homes through Imagination Library.

At its meeting Tuesday, Piqua City Commission recognized September 25, 2026, as Dolly Parton Day.

Mayor Jim Vetter read a proclamation, acknowledging the musician and philanthropist’s contribution to communities nationwide by launching the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program.

Troy-Miami County Public Library has offered the program since 2014 and now mails more than 1,100 books to the children of Piqua each month. Representatives from the library attended the meeting to receive the proclamation.

September 25 honors Dolly Parton’s legacy while also recognizing her connection to the iconic 1980 film and song “9 to 5.”
