GOD HAS A WONDERFUL PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE
Shortly after I turned twenty years of age, I found a Gospel track on the floor of a bathroom stall. Up to that point in my life, I had pretty much done whatever I wanted. I had good raisings with good parents, but my life was quickly becoming a train wreck.
In my high school years, I began to play, drink and smoke ma*****na. Finding a good looking girl to sleep with was always on my mind, although I have to admit that I wasn't successful in that department. From fifteen to twenty, I had done several things to my friends that I was ashamed of and I couldn't believe how I was turning into a person that I didn't want to be. Back to the beginning....
At twenty, I found myself, all alone, hung over and miserable in a college dormitory bathroom. As I sat there, I was looking back over my life to that point and I had the thought, "I might as well kill myself, nobody would miss me and I could just end this thing." But, on the floor, right in front of me was a small Gospel track that read, "God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life!" I remember saying, "This aught to be rich. I've disappointed everyone else in my life, I wonder how I've disappointed God?"
I picked up that booklet and began to read. What I read was so 'to the point' and 'right for my life' that I said the prayer at the end of the book and MY LIFE WAS CHANGED! It sounds cliché, but this is how I can best describe that moment; I can see clearly now, the rain is gone. I huge weight was just lifted off of my shoulders. I once was lost, but now I'm found. I was blind, but now I can see. Yes, I was born again! It truly had a huge impact on me. It was the number one, life changing event that set me on my life's journey. Jesus is real!
I know that this last paragraph might turn many people off, but it happened. I don't want to give you a play by play of how God changed my life, but I want to share with you where I am at today. At fifty eight, I live in a nice small house with my wife and mother-in-law. Right next door to us are my daughter, son-in-law and my three grandchildren. Right across the street is my son, who is in a wheel chair. I'm not financially well off, but God supplies all that we need. I don't have a huge bank account, or even a retirement plan to live off of, but I am rich! I have four generations living together! We each have our own houses, to give us independence and privacy. Best of all, my neighbors are my children and my grandchildren!
After twenty eight years, when I drink my morning coffee and greet the Lord, I have to thank Him for His wonderful plan for my life! I am truly thankful for all that He has done! There is no way that I could have orchestrated this plan, or even thought it up. This is the Lord's doing and it is marvelous in my sight!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Oh yea, Jesus is Lord!
