CASA/GAL of Miami County is a 501 (c) 3 organization whose mission is to provide dedicated volunteers to advocate in court for the best interests of children who have experienced abuse or neglect. Our vision is that every child who has experienced abuse or neglect has the opportunity to thrive in a safe and loving home, because of the support and involvement of their community. Collaboration – We build connections and partnerships through open communication. Compassion – We understand and empathetically respond to the needs of those we serve.

Still feeling inspired after a great CASA conference last week!

It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with CASA/GAL professionals, share ideas, learn from one another, and come home with fresh energy and new ideas for supporting our volunteers and strengthening our advocacy for children.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to keep learning, growing, and finding new ways to make a difference for the children and families we serve.

We are pleased to have nominated Morgan Rice of Miami County Children’s Services for Ohio CASA’s Child Welfare Professional of the Year award!

Morgan is a valued partner to CASA and a wonderful example of how strong collaboration between Children’s Services and CASA can make a difference for children and families. She recognizes the value CASA volunteers bring to a case, communicates openly, and works alongside our advocates with a shared commitment to the best interests of the children we serve.

Strong relationships between CASA volunteers and Children’s Services caseworkers are so important. When we work together, share information, respect one another’s roles, and keep children at the center of our work, we can provide stronger advocacy and better support for families.

We are pleased that 28 Miami County staff and volunteers are able to be part of this conference. It is valuable training to help us be the best possible advocates for children in our community and network with others from around the state.

Our 31st Annual Celebrate Kids! Conference is officially underway! 🎉

With a record 724 attendees and counting, it is our largest conference yet. Thank you all for joining us for three days of important child welfare training and networking
