The second Thursday of the month is a big day at The Lincoln Center Food Pantry, not only are we open for shopping from 5-7 PM, but we get our big delivery from Shared Harvest Food Bank. After the truck is unloaded, we spend the morning unpacking boxes and restocking the shelves. This morning as I admired all of the well stocked shelves, I thought we were in good shape to meet the needs of our customers for several days. However, when our doors opened at 5:00 PM, the pantry was packed with 10 customers within the first hour. I was so excited welcoming customers and checking out shoppers that I had no idea how much food was flying off of our shelves. Once the evening slowed down, I looked around and my stocked shelves were already bare again. After talking to our customers, it is obvious that we are not only providing food security, but a big dose of hope. Together I have no doubt that we can continue to offer this hope and keep our shelves stocked. Your food and monetary donations directly impact our community and we would love to partner with you.
