Dating and relationships can be exciting, complicated, and sometimes challenging to navigate. That’s why our June Hunterdon Peer Support Group focused on open and honest conversations about building healthy relationships, communication, boundaries, and personal experiences.

At PCIL, our peer support groups provide a welcoming space where people with all abilities can connect, learn, and share with others who understand similar life experiences. Many of our meetings feature guest speakers and experts on topics that matter, while also creating opportunities for meaningful discussion among participants.

If you’re looking for connection, support, and engaging conversations in a judgment-free environment, we invite you to join us at an upcoming Peer Support Group.

Look, somebody has to make sure the canned goods get their moment in the spotlight.

While we may have a little fun behind the scenes, the message is important. Through our NJ SNAP assistance program, PCIL helps people with disabilities, seniors, and other eligible individuals apply for food benefits and access resources that can help make groceries more affordable.

Need help applying for SNAP or have questions about eligibility? We’re here to help.

A driver's license can mean so much more than getting from point A to point B.
For many people with disabilities, driving represents independence, employment opportunities, access to education, social connections, and the freedom to participate more fully in their community.

PCIL's Drive-Ability Program helps individuals prepare for the journey toward driving by building confidence, strengthening knowledge of the rules of the road, and developing the skills needed to work toward greater independence.

Whether you're preparing for your permit, exploring transportation options, or taking the next step toward your goals, Drive-Ability can help put you in the driver's seat.

Ready to learn more? Contact PCIL today to see if Drive-Ability is right for you.

Investing in our team means investing in the people we serve.

Thanks to support from the IHC Grant, several members of the Progressive Center for Independent Living team recently completed Mental Health First Aid training during our staff in-service day. This valuable training helps participants recognize the signs of mental health and substance use challenges, respond appropriately, and connect individuals with the support they may need.

As we continue serving people with disabilities throughout Mercer County and Hunterdon County, NJ, we are committed to building a knowledgeable, compassionate team that is prepared to support our community.

A special thank you to the IHC Grant for helping make this training possible.

Many accessibility barriers are invisible until someone encounters them.

A doorway that’s difficult to open. A break room that’s impossible to navigate. An entrance that’s just a little too steep.

The good news? Many accessibility improvements are simpler and more affordable than business owners realize.

PCIL offers FREE ADA Accessibility Assessments to businesses and organizations in Mercer County and Hunterdon County. Our team can help identify potential barriers and provide practical recommendations to create a more welcoming environment for employees, customers, and visitors with disabilities.

Accessibility isn’t just about compliance—it’s about inclusion.
