Change of Leadership at Trenton Nonprofit: Isles Announces Charles Hill as New CEO

Veteran economic development, workforce and community development leader returns to Isles, where an important chapter of his career began.

announced today that after six years as Isles CEO, Sean Jackson will depart
the organization and will be succeeded by Charles Hill, a workforce
development, real estate and economic development executive with deep

1,000 Trees planted in Trenton!! Great join with DEP Commissioner Ed Potosnak and JayWatson of the NJ Conservation Foundation. The DEP funded the work - Jay led the initiative, organized the team, and Isles has been a proud member of that effort. Isles has helped by planting hundreds of trees across the City and for the first two years of tree’s lives watering hundreds of those trees. These 1,000 trees are making Trenton greener, cooler, and healthier!

Isles Youth Institute empowers young people ages 16–24 in Trenton and Mercer County to get back on track, earn their high school equivalency, prepare for a career, and build a path toward independence.

Isles is thrilled to celebrate a historic milestone for New Jersey's energy future: Governor Sherrill has officially signed the Garden State Balcony Solar Act into law! This is a landmark step toward affordable clean energy access for everyone in the community: all NJ renters and families.

This represents a major structural shift toward a more equitable and people-centered energy system. By removing unnecessary barriers and establishing clear safety guidelines, New Jersey is empowering everyday families—including renters and multi-family households—to generate their own clean power and manage rising electricity costs.

Thank you to the Bank of America team for spending the morning with our Urban Agriculture crew at Tucker Street Garden!

Earlier this month, these volunteers rolled up their sleeves to mulch around our trees and turn compost. Turning compost helps create nutrient-rich soil that supports healthy plants and gardens, and the finished compost is available for community members to pick up and use in their own gardens too!

This was Bank of America's second volunteer day with us this year, and we're grateful for their continued support. Thank you for showing up for Trenton!

Back-to-school season is here, and the Community Street Team TCST and Fathers and Men United for a Better Trenton are making sure local kids start the year ready to learn.

Join them for the 20th Annual Community Day & School Supply Giveaway on Saturday, August 29, from 11:00am to 6:00pm at Cadwalader Park (36 Parkside, Trenton, NJ 08618). It's a free, family-friendly day, and school supplies will be available to help students head back to the classroom prepared.
