🚨 Help Save the New Jersey School of Conservation 🌲

For 77 years, the New Jersey School of Conservation has inspired generations of students through hands-on environmental education, scientific research, teacher training, and outdoor learning.

Last summer alone, more than 2,000 children explored New Jersey's forests, streams, and wildlife through its programs—many experiencing nature for the very first time.

Now, this invaluable institution is at risk.

As state budget negotiations come to a close, we need your voice. Please contact your elected officials and urge them to support:

✅ Budget Resolution S302/A990 – Provides $3 million in capital and operating funding for the New Jersey School of Conservation.

✅ S4495/A5321 – Ensures nonprofits managing state facilities on state lands are eligible for 100% funding for qualified capital projects.

📞 Call today:
• Senate President Nicholas Scutari: 732-827-7489
• Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin: 732-855-7441
• Governor Mikie Sherrill: 609-292-6000

Your message can be simple:
"Please support funding for the New Jersey School of Conservation by approving Budget Resolution S302/A990. Thank you."

Every call counts. Together, we can help ensure future generations continue to learn, explore, and connect with New Jersey's incredible natural heritage.

Offshore Wind Milestone: Revolution Wind Begins Supplying Clean Energy to the Grid

Rhode Island’s first utility-scale offshore wind project has officially begun delivering electricity to the New England grid.

Developed by Ørsted and Skyborn Renewables, the 704-megawatt project is located about 15 miles off the coast of Little Compton, Rhode Island and is expected to power hundreds of thousands of homes once fully operational.

The milestone comes despite repeated political efforts to halt the $5+ billion project — another sign that offshore wind is moving from plans to real clean energy on the grid. 🌊⚡

🚨 NJEL Joins Appeal to Protect Liberty State Park

The New Jersey Environmental Lobby (NJEL) has joined a coalition of organizations, led by the Friends of Liberty State Park and the New Jersey Conservation Foundation, appealing the NJDEP’s lease of public land at Liberty State Park to the Suntex Corporation for the construction of a massive boat storage facility.

For decades, NJEL has stood with the Friends of Liberty State Park to protect this treasured public space from privatization and commercialization.

Despite widespread opposition from the public, elected officials, and nonprofit organizations, the lease was approved by the State House Commission just five days before Governor Sherrill’s inauguration.

Organizations joining the appeal include NJEL, NY/NJ Baykeeper, New Jersey Highlands Coalition, Pinelands Preservation Alliance, NJ New Jersey League of Conservation Voters, and the Ramapough Culture and Land Foundation

🌿 Liberty State Park belongs to the public.

The court got it right — the offshore wind review process stays on track!

A federal judge ruled that the freeze on federal offshore wind permits had no lawful basis — clearing the way for clean-energy projects along the Atlantic coast to continue their regulatory progress.

This decision protects:

🌎 Climate progress

💼 Good-paying jobs

⚡ Clean-energy access for millions

Pollution doesn’t get a pause button — and neither should progress. ✔️
