📸 Capturing a Historic Day at Cadwalader Park

On Saturday, June 13, 2026, NJTL of Trenton celebrated the Grand Dedication of the newly renovated Cadwalader Park Tennis Courts with our Capital Cup Friendraiser. It was a wonderful day filled with tennis, fellowship, and community spirit as players, families, supporters, elected officials, and friends gathered to mark this important milestone.

Guests enjoyed Drill & Play sessions with local teaching professionals, opportunities to rally with NJTLT Ashe Elite students, a free Red Ball Tennis Clinic, delicious breakfast and lunch buffets, and a special awards ceremony.

A highlight of the day was recognizing three outstanding partners whose leadership and support have helped expand opportunities for local youth through tennis and education: the USTA Foundation, the City of Trenton, and Mercer County. We were also honored to welcome Lt. Governor Dr. Dale Caldwell as keynote speaker, along with Mayor Reed Gusciora, County Executive Dan Benson, Assemblywoman Tennille McCoy, Councilwoman Teska Frisby, and Director of Recreation and Culture Paul Harris.

What a beautiful, sunny day for our annual Capital Cup Friendraiser as we celebrated the Grand Dedication of the Cadwalader Tennis Courts in Trenton, NJ! 🎾

From our Red Ball Tennis Clinic and Drill & Play Social with favorite local pros to recognizing the partners who helped make this project possible, the event highlighted the power of tennis to bring people together and strengthen our community.

We were honored to welcome Mayor Reed Gusciora, County Executive Dan Benson, Rob Howland of the USTA Foundation, Councilwoman Teska Frisby, Paul Harris, Assemblywoman Tennille McCoy, Daniel Faber, CEO of the International Tennis Hall of Fame, and keynote speaker Lt. Governor Dr. Dale Caldwell.

The dedication of these courts represents an investment in opportunities for youth, families, and the greater Mercer County community for years to come.

to 1995 and the very first “Let’s Make a Racquet” Spring Fundraiser for NJTL of Trenton! 🎾

What started as a small fundraiser with a big vision evolved into our beloved Capital Cup — affectionately known as our annual “Friendraiser.” For 31 years, this special event has brought together players, families, supporters, and community leaders who believe in the power of tennis, education, and opportunity for Trenton youth.

This year, we celebrate the next chapter with our Grand Dedication “Friendraiser” on Saturday, June 13, 2026, and the reopening of the newly renovated Cadwalader Park Tennis Courts!

The day will feature:
🎾 Tennis Drill & Play Social
🎾 FREE Red Ball Tennis Clinic for all ages & skill levels
🎾 Play opportunities with NJTLT ASHE Elite students
🎾 Breakfast & lunch buffet

🎾📚 NJTL of Trenton students have been taking part in essay preparation sessions in advance of the 2026 USTA Foundation Essay Contest.

NJTLT staff has been working with high school students during 30-minute brainstorming sessions focused on generating ideas, organizing thoughts, and getting started on their essays ✍️💡

These sessions give students dedicated time and support as they begin developing their submissions and strengthening their writing skills.

Moments like these reflect what NJTLT is all about—supporting student growth both on and off the court. 💪📖
