Spend your Sunday in the stream.

Join us Sunday, June 7 (1-5pm) for a hands-on stream monitoring event at Mitchell Creek Meadows: The Don & Jerry Olson Nature Preserve with the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy.

The tiny organisms (macroinvertebrates) you'll collect tell a powerful story about the health of our waterways - and you can help uncover it.

No experience is necessary. Just bring your curiosity and we'll guide you the rest of the way. Advanced registration is required at gtbay.org/dive-in-do-your-part.

Art and conservation come together during the Downtown TC (Official) Art Walk.

On Friday, May 29 from 5-7pm at MiddleCoast, TWC Board member and professional photographer Beth Price Photography will showcase an extended collection of her photography capturing the natural beauty of northern Michigan and beyond.

Alongside her broader portfolio, Beth has created a special collection created that directly benefits TWC, with proceeds supporting our mission to protect and preserve our region's waters.

Whether you're an art lover or passionate about conservation, this is a meaningful way to connect creativity and environmental stewardship.

Join us for a hands-on day in the field.

Weโ€™re partnering with the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy for a stream monitoring event on Sunday, June 7 from 1-5pm at Mitchell Creek Meadows: The Don & Jerry Olson Nature Preserve.

Participants will get an introduction to our Adopt-A-Stream program before heading into the creek to collect aquatic macroinvertebrates - tiny but powerful indicators of water quality. You'll then work alongside experts to sort and identify your findings and help determine a stream health score.

No experience is necessary - just curiosity and a love for local waterways. Advanced registration is required gtbay.org/dive-in-do-your-part.

๐Ÿ‘ Another successful cleanup for our waters!

Earlier this week, TWC staff and volunteers cleaned up the stormwater wetland near the Traverse City Meijer and along Kids Creek as it winds through Traverse City's Silverbrook Acres. Together, we removed 75 pounds of trash, most of it plastic, before it could continue downstream.

Every cleanup - big or small - helps protect our local waterways and the people and wildlife who depend on them. Thanks to everyone who pitched in!

๐Ÿ’™ Thank you for showing up for our waters! ๐Ÿ’™

Our Earth Day beach cleanup at Volleyball Beach was a powerful reminder that small actions add up. With the help of over 50 volunteers, we collected 250 pounds of trash from the shoreline - keeping it out of the bay where it belongs.

๐Ÿ‘€ One of the most memorable finds? A soggy boat cushion.

We're so grateful to everyone who spent their time caring for this special places. Together, we're proving that every day is Earth Day.
