This is a powerful film on homelessness - the causes, the people, and the potential solutions. Significant increases in the affordable housing inventory is a major part of the equation contributing to reducing homelessness across the country. At Homestretch Nonprofit Housing - we help, in a small way, to increase available affordable housing options in the Grand Traverse Region. Our ED, Jonathan Stimson is interviewed on minutes 7 - 8 in this film. Rotary Charities of Traverse City Northwest Michigan Supportive Housing - NMSH

The Razor's Edge will take the audience into the lives of those facing poverty and survival every day, many calling the streets their home. We will gain a deep understanding of the often misunderstood world of those experiencing homelessness and food insecurity. The film will shed light on several r...

🌟 Exciting News on ! 🌟

We're thrilled to announce our 2024 grant recipients, whose incredible work is making a difference in our communities:

πŸ“š PoWeR! Book Bags – "The PoWeR! Book Bags Early Head Start program is a federal program that serves children 0-3 who are most at risk. Most often, the first qualifier to be enrolled in the program is low income. In addition, some of the children enrolled have developmental delays, are homeless, or are in foster care. There is a waiting list for children to be enrolled in Early Head Start. The Early Head Start program is intended to give these children in great need a better start and help them succeed later in school while teaching their families how to help their children grow, learn, and develop."

🌿 Grass River Natural Area Playground – "With a team of professional educators, naturalists, landscape architects, engineers, and interested community members who have created natural playgrounds elsewhere, we have designed a space to be built just off the Grass River Center in an area where our summer campers (6-12 years old) have traditionally used for fort building and free play for years!
We know today, children spend on average 4-6 hr/day (and up to 9hrs for teens) on screens (TV, computers, phones). The days of being sent outdoors and told to come back when the streetlights come on are waning in our society, yet there is still an inherent need for all of us to have personal connections to nature."

🍞 Veterans Serving Veterans Food Bank – "Our definition for our operation is protein. Due to increased demand, this is the second year in a row that we have only been able to distribute one pound of protein each distribution date. With the 4Front Foundation Operations Grant, we would be able to purchase an additional 1,250 pounds of hamburger/pork sausage, allowing us to provide a second pound of protein every other distribution date. This will impact the 97 Veterans we average each distribution date; and help with any additional demand as our active Veteran list is 130 Veterans."

🏠 Homestretch Nonprofit Housing – "Homestretch has many tenants earning between $20,000 and $50,000 per year. We have a full-time property manager on staff who works with tenant placement and ongoing property/tenant services across our 20+ properties. A component of her work involves helping tenants financially when possible. The 4Front Foundation Operations Grant would help fund her position to continue this great work!"

We're honored to support these amazing organizations and their impactful missions. Thank you for all you do! πŸ’™

Join us in celebrating their work and making a difference this . Together, we can do so much more!
