“I hate God… and if that’s a problem, we’ll turn around and go home.”
Those were the first words a young mom said when she walked into one of our Spark of Life grief retreats.
She and her husband were 21. Their baby girl had been born healthy… and 18 days later, she died of crib death.
The kind of loss that doesn’t just break your heart—it rearranges your whole world.
Here’s what matters: we didn’t try to talk her out of her grief. We didn’t try to fix her. We didn’t hand her a spiritual script.
We did what we always do:
Everybody’s welcome here.
Three and a half days later, she stood up and said, “I don’t hate God anymore. We’re not best buddies yet… but we’re getting there.”
So what changed in that short time?
In this video we share the three things that bring a sliver of hope back when grief has you pinned:
You feel accepted
Nobody tries to fix you
You finally realize you’re not alone
If you’ve been carrying anger, confusion, isolation, or that heavy thought—“What’s wrong with me?”—please watch this. There’s nothing wrong with you for having a broken heart.
