A Different Kind of Eye Exam Day… Designed for Comfort

On Tuesday, February 24th, we’ll be hosting a Sensory-Friendly Exam Day at Spring Hill Eyecare.

We are setting aside dedicated appointment times specifically for patients with sensory sensitivities or special needs who may benefit from a calmer, more supportive environment.

What will be different that day…

• Office music will be turned off
• Lights will be dimmed or off when possible
• A quieter, slower-paced atmosphere
• Appointments reserved exclusively for sensory-sensitive patients

We’ll also have sensory support kits available that include:
• Noise-cancelling headphones
• Sunglasses for light sensitivity
• Dry erase boards and markers for nonverbal communication
• Fidget gadgets to help with focus and comfort

Our goal is simple…to make eye care more accessible, less stressful, and more comfortable for every patient.

Starting November 29th, Sensory Santa and his elf, will begin making home visits to children who may not be able leave their house for a traditional Santa experience.

These visits are calm personalized and designed with your child’s comfort in mind. No crowds, no noise just a gentle, joyful Santa experience right at home. Pictues are encouraged.

Santa wants to know how all those boys and girls are doing so far in 2024. He has updated his website, sensorysantatn.org, and is ready for his appointments to fill up. This year there are only 3 Saturdays for Santa to make visits so make sure you schedule your appointment early!

Santa is back home at the North Pole after a very busy night. He had so many exciting visits this year visiting 249 children and relatives the last month. Not only were their lots of children but some top notch parents who love their children and take care of every need they have. Thank you to all the kids and parents for the opportunity to come into your homes, workplace, and schools this year.

Santa has enjoyed several visits so far. Today we spent a few hours at Spring Hill public library with about 17 teens and adults and he had more fun than the guests. This is a service for Williamson and Maury county families with children that have special needs. There is no fee, just a time for your children to spend one on one time with Santa in their own environment. No gratuities please.
