This is what our Saturday and Sunday afternoons sounded like! ❤️

Our library was anything but quiet—and we loved every minute of it!

Books being read. 🥰
Puzzles being pieced together. 🧩
Cards and board games being played. 🃏
Magnetic tiles being built into all kinds of creations. 🧱
And lots and lots of talking, laughing, and playing together.

These afternoons gave the children a chance to simply be children—to explore, learn, create, and enjoy one another.

And yes… it was LOUD! 😂 But behind all that noise were busy minds, growing friendships, big smiles, and children who were having fun.

This is what a library can sound like when it becomes a place for learning, connection, and joy. ❤️

Often, reading a book outloud can bring everyone a little closer. 📖🦈❤️

These little girls were completely captivated as one of our volunteers read a picture book about sharks with lots of expression and excitement.

Sitting close together on the library floor, they listened, watched, and soaked up every moment of being read to.

I love seeing the library become a place where children can learn and discover new things together. 💕So thankful for these volunteers!!

What you’re seeing here is how the fire in Kibera was being fought.

There was no fire truck rushing in with powerful hoses. Just a small amount of water being sprayed while men formed a human bucket brigade, passing water hand to hand through the smoke, heat, and chaos.

They worked in incredibly difficult conditions, doing whatever they could to keep the flames from spreading.

It’s hard to watch these images and fully grasp how vulnerable communities like Kibera are when disaster strikes. 💔

Please pray for the families affected by this fire—and for those who are working through the smoke and danger to help. 🙏🏾

A game, lots of laughter, and two little boys showing just how much they enjoy being close to their volunteer. One gently reaches up to stroke his hair, while another wraps his arms around him and holds on as tightly as he can.

We’re so thankful for volunteers who give their time and attention to simply be present with these children. Sometimes, those ordinary moments become the ones that mean the most. ❤️

Little Friendly Competition
Sometimes the best memories are made in the simplest moments! 💛

One volunteer started doing pushups…and before long, the children wanted to join in! 😂 He kept going, and the kids kept laughing and trying to keep up.

Sometimes all it takes is a little energy, a lot of laughter, and someone willing to get down on the floor to bring g immense joy ❤️
