We’re back! After a short winter break, Power In A Shower mobile showers return to the New Haven Green for the 2026 season. Free showers, dignity, and support for those in need.

Power In a Shower returns — every 3rd Sunday, 10 AM–2 PM at Mt. Vernon SDA Church (parking lot). Mobile showers, one-on-one social worker care, and referrals — rain or shine. No judgement. Everyone is somebody.

Power In A Shower resumes its 2026 mobile shower schedule after a brief winter hiatus. The winter of 2025–2026 has been one of the coldest in nearly a decade, but true to our commitment to serve people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity, our mobile units continued operating through this harsh season. Hygiene care has no season — it’s needed most when there are few safe places to stay warm, shower, or access basic services. Thank you to our staff, volunteers, and partners for keeping showers and dignity available to those who need them most.

As winter sets in, survival becomes a daily challenge for our most vulnerable neighbors. Across many counties, warming centers open their doors to provide shelter from the cold—but warmth alone is not enough.

Power In A Shower brings dignity, health, and hope directly to these spaces by providing warm, private showers in our mobile units. For individuals who have gone days, weeks, or even months without access to basic hygiene, a hot shower is more than comfort—it is a moment of relief, restoration, and humanity.

Along with warm showers, we provide clean underclothing, helping guests feel respected and cared for during one of the hardest seasons of the year. These services do more than lift spirits; they play a critical role in public health. Access to proper hygiene has been shown to slow—and in many cases stop—the spread of illness in congregate settings like warming centers.

In the depths of winter and early spring, when the cold is unforgiving and options are limited, Power In A Shower stands in the gap—protecting health, restoring dignity, and reminding every person we serve that they are seen, valued, and care.
