Asalaamu Alaikum.
My name is Syed Jamin Ali. We here at North Bronx Islamic Center offer our prayers to those who have lost friends and family during this difficult time. We also ask everyone to continue to follow the health guidelines recommended by the CDC For prevention and stop the spread of Covid-19.
The North Bronx Islamic Center will remain closed following the government’s guidelines for the safety of our community until further notice. Ramadan is coming soon and I know many are concerned about Ramadan prayers at our masjid. As of now unfortunately it looks like the masjid will remain closed for the duration of Ramadan until we hear from our local government.
This year we celebrated holy lailatul borath from our own homes. Even with this situation the masjid has maintenance and operational costs and we ask the community for continued financial support. In the last few days we've had many donations coming in from our brothers and sisters.
I hope that more brothers and sisters continue to donate money towards the North Bronx Islamic Center and thanks to all that have donated already. Special thanks to Secretary Muhammed Iqbal Hussain, Treasurer Mahbub Hussain, and Assistant Secretary Shah Jakaria for making calls to our donors and collecting donations for North Bronx Islamic Center. Also thanks to all the volunteers and the support of the North Bronx community.
