Discipleship happens in relationships, over time, through life together.

Jesus didn’t simply give His disciples information to remember.

He invited them close.

They watched Him.
They walked with Him.
They learned from Him.
They asked questions.
They were challenged by Him.
They saw how He lived, loved, served, and followed the Father.

And then Jesus sent them out to do the same for others.

That is discipleship.

It’s not just a curriculum.
It’s not just a class.
It’s not just gaining more biblical knowledge.

It’s choosing to walk alongside someone as they follow Jesus—and helping them become the kind of disciple who can walk alongside someone else.

Up close.
Personal.
Over time.

Because discipleship doesn’t stop with us.

We are discipled so we can disciple others.

That’s how disciples multiply.
That’s how leaders are formed.
That’s how generations are transformed.

So… what is discipleship?
It’s life on life, following Jesus together.

Who is God calling you to mentor or disciple?

We are not meant to walk this road alone. Ask God who He wants you to mentor. Or maybe you need to be discipled, ask God who you can ask to mentor you.

Walk in confidence. Be bold.

Every Paul needs a Barnabas 👥
Before Paul became one of the most influential leaders in the early church, Barnabas came alongside him.

He believed in him.
He advocated for him.
He walked with him.
He encouraged him.
He helped others see what God was already doing in him.

Barnabas didn’t need to be the one in the spotlight. He simply saw potential, made room, and invested in another leader.

And that investment mattered.

Paul went on to disciple others, plant churches, raise up leaders, and impact generations of Christ followers.

That is the power of discipleship.

One person pours into another.
That person pours into another.
And the impact continues far beyond the original relationship.

That is the kind of ministry we believe in at Developing Workers.

We walk alongside ministry leaders, encourage them, equip them, and invest in them—so they can turn around and pour into the next generation of Christ followers.

Because discipleship isn’t just about what happens in us.

It’s about what God wants to do through us.

WE THANK GOD FOR YOU.

Paul begins his second letter to the Thessalonians with these words:
“We ought always to give thanks to God for you.” — 2 Thessalonians 1:3

Before Paul addresses needs or challenges, he stops to thank God for people—for their growing faith, increasing love, and steadfast endurance.

We want to do the same.

We thank God for every leader who keeps showing up.
Every mentor who walks alongside another leader.
Every person who prays, gives, serves, and believes transformed leaders can transform generations.

And recently, we received a beautiful reminder of why it matters.

THE RIPPLE CONTINUES.

One of the greatest signs of healthy discipleship isn’t what happens while we’re there. It’s what continues after we leave. Pastor Godwin Masayio of Namayiana Baptist Church was once discipled by Rev. Momboshi.

Today, Pastor Godwin leads one of the largest congregations in the region—and faithfully disciples others himself. And that’s not all. After receiving discipleship training through Developing Workers, local leaders have now planted 19 churches in surrounding communities.

Those churches are now being led across four independent regions by four Senior Reverends.

This is what we pray for.

Not dependence on Developing Workers, but leaders who are discipled, equipped, entrusted—and then go disciple others.

Paul describes it in 2 Timothy 2:2: “Entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.”

This is why we disciple.

Because the goal isn’t simply to build a ministry. The goal is to see disciple-making movements take root and continue long after we leave.

One leader pours into another.
That leader pours into another.

Churches multiply.
Leaders multiply.
And the ripple continues.

We thank God for you—and for the part you play in the ripple.

Devo: Abide in Christ
📖 1 John 2:18–29

Who is the antichrist?

John gives us an important perspective: anyone who denies Christ and twists the truth of who He is is working against Christ. The enemy wants to deceive us, make us doubt, and pull us away from the truth.

So how do we stand against deception?

Abide in Christ.

John doesn’t tell us to fight deception through our own strength or performance. Instead, he tells us to remain in Christ—to know Him, walk with Him, and allow His Word to take root in us.

To abide means to remain, dwell, and stay deeply connected.

The closer we are to Jesus, the more clearly we recognize what is not from Him.

We don’t overcome deception by simply knowing about God. We overcome it by knowing God.

Today, ask yourself: “Am I simply learning about Jesus, or am I abiding in Him?”

Stay close to Christ. Stay rooted in His Word. Abide in Him.

This Easter, we remember the heart of it all:

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” — John 3:16

Easter is the story of love.

A love that gave.
A love that sacrificed.
A love that made a way for life.

Because of Jesus, we don’t just know about this love—we are invited to live in it and share it.

This is the message we carry.
This is the life we pass on.
