As the first day of summer approaches University Career Women is winding down after 40 years of service. Since 1985 ASU UCW has mentored students, brought professional development to women (and a few men) and generally provided an example of service leadership at ASU. We have supported nonprofit organizations and invited young businesses to showcase their wares at our conferences, and sponsored the Adopt a Family holiday gift for ASU families in need.
It is now time for us to let a new generation form organizations and collaborations of their own to meet the needs of this era.
As our 40th year comes to an end remember that our focus on professional and personal development has been consistent. This year we helped members attend conferences, join professional associations and get training they need to continue their career development. We brought guest Catherine Simone of CEBV.us in to share how we can become engaged and make our voices heard on the issues that matter to us in our own communities. And we have transferred our remaining funds to continue professional development through the Staff Council that serves us all.
As you continue at ASU and beyond remember to always Save a Seat for a Sister (our S3 commitment). And save a seat for others who have found it hard to be heard. We are in this world together. Let’s continue to make it a great world for everyone!

The Adopt an ASU Family 2022 was a success! This program has been going on since 2001. We were able to help 12 ASU families this year. Thank you to those who donated, and for those of you who are interested next year we hope to help even more families! Big shout out to DeDe who has been the heart of this program for many years!

I just realized my pictures of this event had not been posted. We had a great time of networking, really good food, and announced that UCW has taken on the ASU Adopt A Family as our annual project to support our ASU Community!

Have a wonderful break, Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, Propserous Kwanzaa and Cozy Solstice.

See you in 2023!

Fall is here and our campus is full of students again. In each of our offices we have ramped up and are finding ourselves super busy making sure new Sun Devils receive the services they need to get started and continuing Sun Devils are in the right position to progress well through another academic year. Many of us are staff, supporting faculty directly while others are behind the scenes making sure the university runs smoothly....

Our 2022 Woman of Inspiration Awardee this year is Leticia Vidana of the Pat Tillman Veterans Center. Leticia was promoted twice this past year and took on significant challenges to maintain and expand high quality services while rebuilding the staff. Her willingness to step up, passion for veterans and minority populations and general Sun Devil spirit made her the ideal woman to honor with this years' award.
