As the first day of summer approaches University Career Women is winding down after 40 years of service. Since 1985 ASU UCW has mentored students, brought professional development to women (and a few men) and generally provided an example of service leadership at ASU. We have supported nonprofit organizations and invited young businesses to showcase their wares at our conferences, and sponsored the Adopt a Family holiday gift for ASU families in need.
It is now time for us to let a new generation form organizations and collaborations of their own to meet the needs of this era.
As our 40th year comes to an end remember that our focus on professional and personal development has been consistent. This year we helped members attend conferences, join professional associations and get training they need to continue their career development. We brought guest Catherine Simone of CEBV.us in to share how we can become engaged and make our voices heard on the issues that matter to us in our own communities. And we have transferred our remaining funds to continue professional development through the Staff Council that serves us all.
As you continue at ASU and beyond remember to always Save a Seat for a Sister (our S3 commitment). And save a seat for others who have found it hard to be heard. We are in this world together. Let’s continue to make it a great world for everyone!
