2026 Ride of Silence
When: Wednesday, May 20, meet at 6:30pm, roll out at 7pm
Where: Tempe Beach Park entrance near Rio Salado and Mill
Join cyclists worldwide in a silent slow-paced ride (max. 12 mph/20kph) in honor of those who have been injured or killed while cycling on public roadways.

WHY DOES THIS ORGANIZATION EXIST?
To HONOR those who have been injured or killed
To RAISE AWARENESS that we are here
To ask that we all SHARE THE ROAD

THE RIDE OF SILENCE WILL NOT BE QUIET
On Wed. May 20th, 2026 at 7:00 PM, the Ride of Silence will traverse and unite the globe as nothing before it. Cyclists will take to the roads in a silent procession to honor cyclists who have been killed or injured while cycling on public roadways. Although cyclists have a legal right to share the road with motorists, the motoring public often isn’t aware of these rights, and sometimes not aware of the cyclists themselves.

In 2003, Chris Phelan organized the first Ride of Silence in Dallas after endurance cyclist Larry Schwartz was hit by the mirror of a passing bus and was killed.

The Ride of Silence is a free ride that asks its cyclists to ride no faster than 12 mph, wear helmets, wear white, follow the rules of the road and remain silent during the ride. There are no registration fees. The ride, which is held during National Bike Month, aims to raise the awareness of motorists, police and city officials that cyclists have a legal right to the public roadways. The ride is also a chance to show respect for and honor the lives of those who have been killed or injured.

🚨Advocacy alert 🚨
On Thursday, May 14, at 6pm, Tempe City Council is discussing and taking possible action on 2 important issues that we support: 1. Placing an 0.1% increase in sales tax to fund transit on the November ballot and 2. Proposed ordinance changes to lower speed limits on 6 streets.

🗣️ Show up in person or speak virtually to make public and show support for these measures. If you wish to address Council virtually, you must submit an electronic Comment Card at least 2 hours before the meeting. Make sure to select the “I will be attending the meeting virtually to personally comment” option on the form. https://www.tempe.gov/government/city-clerk-s-office/city-council-online-meeting-comment-card

🚨 Okay… we’re just gonna say it. 🚨

You were right.
We were wrong.

We said spots would fill fast…
they didn’t. 😅

And now?
We really, really need your help.

This weekend is Reggae Rise Up, and our bike valet only works if people like you show up to make it happen.

If you’ve got 3–4 hours, that’s all it takes to:
✔ Keep bikes safe
✔ Keep the event flowing
✔ Be part of something actually fun (seriously, it’s a vibe)

We’re a little short.
Okay… more than a little.

So if you’ve been thinking about volunteering—
this is your sign.

👉 Jump in. Grab a shift. Save us from our own optimism.

We’ll be out there, doing our best, and we’d love to have you with us.

Friday: 1 spot open 1130a-430, 730-1130p

🌭🚲 THE HOT DOG RIDE IS BACK 🚲🌭

Did you really think we wouldn’t do this again?

Join us April 25th at 11AM as we roll out from Salt Fire for a glorious tour of THREE hot dog joints.

🌭 Route: still cooking…
🌱 Every stop has vegetarian options
🎭 Costumes: not optional. required. mandatory. we will judge you (lovingly).

This is not a ride.
This is a movement.
A slightly ridiculous, ketchup-covered movement.

Bring your friends. Bring your appetite. Bring your best hot dog energy.
