ATTENTION: PHOENIX DANCERS! MALE DANCERS NEEDED!
Desert Dance Theatre is in search for modern dancers with strong technical abilities to perform in its music/dance/drama, Sister Moses: The Story of Harriet Tubman. We are looking for professional dancers who are available to rehearse locally (Phoenix) in preparation to travel and perform 4 shows in Bastrop, Texas.
Must be available to rehearse in Phoenix between now and February, preferably on Saturdays and Sundays, but may schedule other days during the week depending on dancer and space availability.
Phoenix Rehearsals will take place at Dance Theater West, 3925 E. Indian School Rd, Phoenix.
Desert Dance Theatre will provide air and ground transportation, accommodations, per diem and performance pay.
Must be available from February 3-8, 2026 (to travel, rehearse and perform).
Venue: Jerry Fay Wilhelm Center for the Performing Arts, Bastrop, TX
Performance Dates & Times:
Friday, February 6th - School Matinees at 10:30am & 1:30pm
Saturday, February 7th - Public Performances at 2:00pm & 7:30pm
Casting specific types of roles:
Male (Black) - Strong worker, defiant, fighter
Male (Black) - Preacher, leader, peace maker
Male (White) - Overseer, angry, controlling, handles a whip and rope
Male (White) - Gentleman, plantation owner, wealthy, handsome
