On May 8, 2021 EnhanceAbility will be opening its Able Artists Gallery in Tallahassee, Florida. https://www.facebook.com/search/top?q=Able%20Artists%20Gallery

The Board of EnhanceAbility recognized the artistic talent that lies within the population of individuals with disabilities and founded the gallery as a space located in the Railroad Art District of Tallahassee, Florida for the talented artists to showcase and offer for sale their works, while also bringing enjoyment to others through the beauty and appreciation of art. Other than donating and volunteering, the best way to support EnhanceAbility and the Able Artist Gallery is by purchasing our artwork. Taking home of gifting art from our gallery facilitates hope, pride, and opportunity. Visit our website at www.ableartists.org for more information about the gallery

Tallahassee is continuing to recover. The tornados truly have affected so many lives. I am saddened by the fact that the gallery that our family, employees, and artists worked so hard to create is gone. My heart goes out to all of our artists that lost their artwork, and in all those in our community that thought of the gallery as their safe Haven.

Here’s a fantastic article that features Able Artists Gallery in a long-form narrative news piece after the tornados on Friday. Please read and share!

The city's beloved arts and culture district was hit especially hard after at least two tornados swept through Leon County early Friday morning.

Deadline to submit for SOMA is this week!!!!!

We're very excited to announce that our next conference of the Southeastern O&M Association (SOMA) will be at the beautiful Embassy Suites by Hilton in Huntsville, Alabama! October 27-29, 2024 with pre-conference in October 26. Part of the pre-conference program includes an experience at US Space and Rocket Center’s Space Camp (where many of our students have gone) and a visit to the birthplace of Helen Keller and see the water pump where she learned her first word. More details are at our website

We know you have ideas and information to share -- the SOMA audience is always enthusiastic and receptive, especially for folks who've never presented before! - so put your thoughts together and send them to us in the Call for Papers. As usual, the program will emphasize hands-on experiences and practical information, like we had last year (see a list of the amazing activities here).

If you’d like to help organize the conference or join the Program Committee and meet / work with enthusiastic folks, let us know.
