In the 2026 elections, the stakes could not be higher. Extremist lawmakers in Florida and across the country have launched a coordinated assault on reproductive health care access, driving up health care costs and restricting access to care for millions.

David Jolly and Gwen Graham have demonstrated commitment to defending Floridians’ access to reproductive and s*xual health care services. They support medically accurate health care policies for everything from gender-affirming care and abortion, to s*x education.

In his time in both the Florida House and Senate, Jose Javier Rodriguez has been an outspoken supporter of reproductive freedom, including access to abortion. And he got all A+ - 100% ratings from Planned Parenthood Florida Action!

As a candidate for Attorney General, he’s continued to be an advocate for reproductive rights, saying in a Miami Herald op-ed.

“Women in Florida have already lost so much under this administration: the right to make their own healthcare decisions, access to affordable care and the peace of mind that comes from knowing their state will defend, not endanger, them.

“Floridians don’t need an attorney general obsessed with controlling women; they need one who will stand up to corporations and corrupt politicians driving up their bills.

26 years later, mifepristone is still safe and effective 💪👏

26 years ago today, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved mifepristone for use in the U.S. In that time, mifepristone has been used by 7.5 million patients.

We know attacks on the safety and efficacy of mifepristone — which have happened throughout its 26-year approval — are completely unfounded and not backed by science or medicine. These attacks are politically motivated and designed to do one thing: make it harder for everyone, everywhere to get an abortion when and where they need one — even in states where abortions are legal or protected. 🩷

Alexis McGill Johnson, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Action Fund, recently sat down with The Root to discuss what’s at stake for reproductive freedom in this midterm election. She outlined the public health crisis brought on by abortion bans and emphasized the disproportionate effect of restrictive laws on Black women’s maternal health.

Alexis explained, “The majority of Black women live in states with abortion bans, and as we know, abortion bans have made pregnancy more dangerous. We know that defunding Planned Parenthood has impacted health centers all across this country, even in blue states where many of us live…I can’t think of anything more horrific or egregious than Black women dying. I think those are the stories that we are hearing: women who’ve been sent to parking lots to wait for sepsis to set in to get basic access to life-saving medical care.”

With a 234% increase in maternal mortality for Black women in states with abortion bans, there is an urgent need for action. As Alexis made clear, “We need federal legislation to codify reproductive freedom, and we need to fight for a constitutional amendment, you know, years from now.”

Hardworking families and seniors need real affordability relief, not a SCAM that cuts essential local services. There will be an amendment on the ballot in Florida this November to eliminate property taxes. This is a massive tax break for the wealthy, not for us.

The bigger the property, the bigger the tax break, shifting costs onto working families and seniors who will have to pay new fees and higher taxes or lose essential services, like healthcare and community support, when they need them most.
