Meet the artist: Dan Taylor Artist 🎨

Based in Tallahassee, Dan Taylor creates bold abstract paintings and richly textured works that explore color, connection, and accessibility. His practice is grounded in a deep curiosity about how visual language can bring people together, inviting viewers into layered fields of emotion, movement, and energy.

His work has been exhibited across Florida, including at the Tampa Museum of Art, LeMoyne Arts, Gadsden Arts Center & Museum, and Venvi Gallery, and is held in both public and private collections.

Beyond the studio, Dan serves as President of LeMoyne Arts, where he continues to advocate for the essential role of the arts in building stronger, more connected communities.

Come experience his work in person and see how color becomes conversation. 🎭

Meet the artist: Nancy McFarland 🌊✨

North Florida mixed-media artist Nancy McFarland transforms discarded and found materials into vibrant, textured works full of imagination, humor, and soul. A lifelong beachcomber and collector of forgotten objects, Nancy gives new life to driftwood, oyster shells, broken jewelry, vintage fabrics, rusted hardware, and other reclaimed treasures, creating artwork that is both sustainable and deeply expressive.

Her work in Funkadelic Visions, George P. FUNk, is a whimsical driftwood homage to the legendary George Clinton. Part sculpture, part cosmic character, George P. FUNk emerges from the shoreline as a barnacle-encrusted funk prophet “aiming straight for the Mothership.” Equal parts playful and intricate, the piece captures the spirit of P-Funk through texture, storytelling, and reclaimed coastal materials.

Nancy’s work celebrates the beauty of reimagined objects while encouraging a kinder footprint on the earth, proving that discarded things can still carry rhythm, history, and magic.

🎨💛 A sweet summer camp story from our LeMoyne family!
Board member Stephanie Paul Whitfield , Immediate Past President, recently shared how much her grandson is loving LeMoyne Art Camp. In fact, after a week of creating, exploring, and making new friends, he told her he wants to come back every week this summer!
Stephanie shared the cutest photo of him proudly sporting his cowboy hat and boots as he gets ready for horse-riding camp next week. But there’s a twist—he’s already planning his return to LeMoyne! He was already set to return to LeMoyne for one more week, but after his enthusiastic review, his family signed him up for an additional week!
Stories like this remind us why summer camp matters. Thank you to our generous summer camp sponsors, Acadian Builders and First Federal Bank .federal, for helping make these creative experiences possible for local children and families. Your support inspires imagination, builds confidence, and creates memories that last all summer long. 🌟

Meet the artist: Demetria Bryant 🎨✨

Demetria Bryant is a multidisciplinary creative whose abstract paintings explore emotion, movement, and texture through layered materials, pigment, and resin. Her work is intuitive and process-driven, guided less by rigid structure and more by feeling, allowing each piece to evolve organically as color, surface, and energy build over time.

A lifelong maker, Deme has always been drawn to hands-on creativity, from designing clothing and crocheting to candle making and food presentation as visual expression. During the pandemic, she turned toward abstract painting as a personal outlet for calm and reflection, which quickly developed into a deep and lasting artistic practice.

Today, her work is vibrant, dimensional, and emotionally charged, inviting viewers to experience shifting light, depth, and movement from every angle. Each piece becomes a unique moment in time, shaped by spontaneity, intention, and lived emotion.

In Funkadelic Visions, Demetria’s work offers space for connection, where viewers can find their own story within color, rhythm, and abstraction.

Meet the artist: Ancetia 🎨

Ancetia’s artistic practice is rooted in nature and visual expression. Although she earned a Master of Architecture degree from Florida A&M University, her foundation as an artist is central to her work, shaping both her conceptual approach and her sensitivity to form, space, and narrative.

Her work has been recognized on a national level through selection for a Smithsonian-affiliated exhibition and galleries from Florida to South Carolina.

Stephanie's portfolio spans multiple media, including oil, watercolor, and acrylic painting, large-scale murals, sketching, digital design, and photography. This allows her to explore different dimensions of light and texture. Her architectural background further informs her compositions, lending structure and intentionality while maintaining an intuitive, expressive quality.
Come view her phenomenal work now through June 27th at LeMoyne Arts.
