It gives us great joy to introduce our new Executive Director: Madison Roths!
Madison has joined the Chorus in song as a soloist in recent seasons, and is thrilled to serve in this new role. We are so thankful to Maclain Hardin Kurza, our preceding Executive Director, who helped position the organization for the appointment of its first full-time Executive Director.
Madison Roths is a nationally respected soprano, celebrated for her “wonderful combination of exquisite technique and expression.” She brings these exact performance qualities, along with “an extension cord of energy from heaven,” to her role as Executive Director of the Tallahassee Community Chorus.
Madison holds a B.M. in Vocal Performance and a Graduate Certificate of Professional Practices in Music Performance from Wichita State University, an M.M. in Vocal Performance from Florida State University, and is in the process of completing the D.M. in Voice with specialized studies in Arts Administration from FSU. She is the recipient of a Graduate Teaching Assistantship, two awards from the Hannah J. Beaulieu competition (2023/24), was a finalist in the 2021 Concerto Aria Competition at WSU, and received the 2020 Undergraduate Presser Scholar Award.
Equally at home in solo or choral repertoire, Madison has performed in operas and concerts across the U.S. with the FSU and WSU Symphony Orchestras, Solaria of Orlando Sings, the Festival Singers of Florida, Wichita Grand Opera, Music On Site, FSU and WSU Opera, FSU Wind Band, her professional percussion and soprano duo StaccAria, the Salina Chorale, Broadway RFD, the Schola Cantorum of the Co-Cathedral of St. Thomas More, the Tallahassee Community Chorus itself, and more. Some of her most treasured musical experiences include her first concert with Solaria in Orlando, Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 with the FSU Symphony Orchestra, Vixen Bystrouška in Janáček’s Příhody lišky Bystroušky, Meditations on Death by Skip Stradtman, Cinderella in Into the Woods, The Fire in L’enfant et les sortilèges, Saint-Saëns Christmas Oratorio, and as first soprano soloist in Tormis’ Helletused.
Madison has had a passion for community choral music since her involvement with the Salina Chorale as a young student in Kansas. A similarly intergenerational choir, the Salina Chorale set her heart alight for professional repertoire performed at superior quality by everyday people with a love of music! As she steps into her role with the Tallahassee Community Chorus, she is committed to further strengthening its presence as a vibrant, inclusive space where artistic excellence and community connection go hand in hand.
When not onstage, Madison can be found on the arm of the love of her life, Jack DiNapoli, whom she will marry in October 2026.
Today marks Madison Roths’ first official day as our full-time Executive Director, and we couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead. As we begin this next movement for the Tallahassee Community Chorus, please join us in giving Madison a warm welcome!
