Scouting for Food Kickoff: Help Us Tackle Food Insecurity Locally!
Did you know that right here in our region, nearly 1 in 4 neighbors struggle with or are at risk of food insecurity? Heading into the holidays, local food pantries rely heavily on community drives to keep their shelves stocked.
This the upcoming weekends, Scouts will be walking through our neighborhood to deliver door hangers for Scouting for Food, our annual nationwide food collection drive.
Amid all the election mailers and seasonal catalogs hitting porches right now, we wanted to give you a quick heads-up so our flyer catches your eye!
Quick Rundown:
The Cause: Every single can and box collected goes directly to West Valley Community Services to support local folks in need.
The Ask: Set aside any non-perishable goods you can spare—canned tuna/chicken, peanut butter, hearty soups, rice, beans, and breakfast items (no glass, please).
Collection Day: Simply leave your bag or box outside your front door by 9:00 AM on Saturday, November 14, and our Scouts will swing by to pick it up.
Last year our community showed incredible generosity, and we’re hoping to collect even more food this season! Thank you so much for supporting our youth as they serve our neighborhood.
