as Creek established a non-profit environmental education program for schools in 1975 and applied its renowned curriculum and mission to CYO Summer Camp. Over the past 50 years, hundreds of Bay Area schools and tens of thousands of children have benefited from Caritas Creek's program, as an integral part of their school-year curriculum. Today, Caritas Creek continues to educate youth on site at CYO Camp in Occidental, California. The Caritas Creek 501(c)(3), a California non-profit organization, is overseen by a dedicated board, the CYO Camp and Caritas Creek Alumni Foundation. Together, board members work tirelessly to fundraise for the annual campership fund, ensuring that more children have the opportunity to learn, grow, and experience the magic of the redwood forest. This page is currently managed by the CYO Camp and Caritas Creek Alumni Foundation. Our camp alumni foundation is on a quest to change the world, one child at a time. We believe that children learning, playing and connecting to their world in a natural classroom is the way to change the world. We do this by making camp and outdoor education at Caritas Creek and CYO Camp financially accessible to children from ALL socio-economic backgrounds across the San Francisco Bay Area, fostering transformative experiences and lifelong memories.
