We recently welcomed our largest cohort of Fellows yet to Elevate Tutoring! 🎉

Our annual Pre-Service Orientation & Fellowship Kickoff is always one of our favorite events of the year. It’s the moment when a new group of first-generation college students officially comes together as a cohort and begins preparing for the year ahead.

Over the course of the weekend, our Fellows got to know one another, learned from Elevate trainers, staff, alumni, practiced tutoring and leadership skills, and started building the relationships that will support them throughout their Fellowship, and beyond.

Soon, they’ll bring what they learned into their work with K-12 students across the Bay Area. We can’t wait to see the impact they make!

We put together a short video from the weekend to give you a glimpse of the experience.

Thank you to everyone who helps make moments like this possible. We’re excited for the year ahead! 💙

Yesterday, Elevate Tutoring surpassed $1 million raised in a single fiscal year for the first time in our organization’s history.

Not long ago, this milestone once felt out of reach. Today, it reflects a growing community that believes in investing in first-generation and low-income college students - not only as scholars, but as mentors making a difference in their communities.

Over the past year:
• 100+ Tutor Fellows supported K-12 students through tutoring and mentorship
• 96% of Fellows are on track to graduate on time (compared to 24% nationally for first-generation students)
• Demand continues to grow, positioning us to increase our cohort size by almost 50% for the 2026-2027 school year

As we enter the final stretch of our fiscal year, we are now less than $32,000 away from reaching our overall fundraising goal!

If you’ve been part of this journey - thank you. Your support makes this work possible. If you’d like to help us close the gap and expand access to this program, you can learn more or contribute here: www.elevatetutoring.org/donate

We also invite you to hear directly from our students by watching a short video featuring recent Tutor Fellows reflecting on their experience and impact: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7tMbuZA6xzc

Thank you for being part of the Elevate community!

Donations are the fuel that power our fellowship program. When you make a gift of any size to Elevate Tutoring, you're helping to build a brighter future for thousands of students throughout the Bay Area. Every gift makes a difference.

Elevate recently hosted an Alumni Panel & Networking Luncheon, bringing together alumni, Community Advisors, and current Tutor Fellows for a day of conversation and connection!

Our alumni shared candid reflections on their paths after graduation, including the uncertainties, pivots, and lessons that do not always appear on a resume. For Fellows preparing to launch their own careers, hearing directly from those who once stood in their shoes was both grounding and motivating. Fellows then had the opportunity to practice networking and learn directly from alumni and Community Advisors working in their chosen fields.

We are excited to share a short recap video from the event, filmed by Elevate alum Brian Phan, who is now building his career in the film industry. It is a meaningful example of the ways our alumni continue to contribute to and shape the Elevate community!

These gatherings are a reminder that mentorship and community do not end at graduation. We are grateful to the alumni and volunteers who continue showing up for the next generation of Fellows!
