Elevate recently hosted an Alumni Panel & Networking Luncheon, bringing together alumni, Community Advisors, and current Tutor Fellows for a day of conversation and connection!

Our alumni shared candid reflections on their paths after graduation, including the uncertainties, pivots, and lessons that do not always appear on a resume. For Fellows preparing to launch their own careers, hearing directly from those who once stood in their shoes was both grounding and motivating. Fellows then had the opportunity to practice networking and learn directly from alumni and Community Advisors working in their chosen fields.

We are excited to share a short recap video from the event, filmed by Elevate alum Brian Phan, who is now building his career in the film industry. It is a meaningful example of the ways our alumni continue to contribute to and shape the Elevate community!

These gatherings are a reminder that mentorship and community do not end at graduation. We are grateful to the alumni and volunteers who continue showing up for the next generation of Fellows!

This weekend we welcomed our newest 🌟 Tutor Fellows 🌟 with a 2-day Orientation + Kickoff!

They dove into:
✨ Culturally responsive tutoring
✨ Tackling imposter syndrome
✨ Growth mindset & productive failure
✨ Building trust with tutees

Our current Fellows and alumni also led a panel, Q&A, and mock tutoring to help the new cohort feel confident and supported!

We can’t wait to see the impact these Fellows will make on the K-12 students they mentor, and to watch them grow as leaders in their own journeys 💙

This past weekend, we officially welcomed our newest cohort of Tutor Fellows at Elevate Tutoring! 🎉

It was an energizing start to the year filled with training, mentorship, and community.

Highlights of the tutor training included discussions on:
✅ Practicing culturally-responsive tutoring
✅ Tackling imposter syndrome and navigating the “murky middle”
✅ Embracing a growth mindset and the value of productive failure
✅Establishing trusting, confidence-building relationships with tutees

On Day Two, our current Fellows and alumni took the lead—sharing their experiences in a panel and Q&A, and guiding new Fellows through mock tutoring to build confidence for the year ahead.

We also came together for a Community Kickoff Dinner, where staff, board, volunteers, and supporters welcomed the Fellows into the Elevate family.
