This Tuesday Night!

Are you a seasoned songwriter looking for a welcoming space to share your new work?

Or maybe you’re an aspiring songwriter eager to connect with others in the community and learn from their experiences.

Or perhaps you just love great music and want to enjoy a true listening room experience.

Whatever your vibe, this night is for YOU!

Here’s the plan:
• Doors open at 6:00 PM, with sign-ups for the open mic kicking off at the same time.
• From 6:20 to 6:50 PM, join us for an unplugged song circle—perfect for anyone who’s not quite ready for the mic or just wants to share something they’re working on in a relaxed, supportive space.
• Open mic starts at 7 PM with our host featuring:
• Four 10-minute performance slots
• A 20-minute featured performer:
• Four more open mic slots to close out the evening

Space is limited, so arrive early to snag a spot on the list!

• When: Tuesday, April 7th
• Where: Public Works Art Center
• Snacks & Drinks: Beverages and light snacks will be available on a donation basis, with proceeds supporting Community Music Collective and Public Works Art Center.

If you love live music, believe in building something meaningful in the community, and want to be part of a passionate, creative team… we’d love to talk.

From our premier events like the Southern Songwriter Festival and the Edisto Blackwater Boogie to a growing calendar of live music experiences, there’s a lot happening—and we could use your help.

We’re currently looking for committee members who’d like to work with us on an ongoing basis. Committee membership also carries with it with the potential of becoming a Community Music Collective board member:

Excited for the first Songwriters open mic of 2026! Tuesday, February 3rd, 7pm-9pm at Public Works Art Center. Sign-ups start at 6:10. We look forward to hearing your original music!

Jamison Alley will be our featured artist. Jamison Alley coined “therafusion” as her unique genre of music. Therafusion has an intensely based country pop feel that includes a merger of different styles and an added touch of therapeutic insight. Jamie hopes her music will appeal to anyone who needs a smile, needs an inspiration, or a motivation to change.

S.C. Arts Commission designates state’s 13th cultural district in Summerville! 🎉

The new Summerville Cultural District is four city blocks, with side-by-side blocks on either side of South Main Street. Local artists, musicians, photographers, and craftspeople live and work throughout the district, often sharing their work at markets, exhibitions, and community events. There is also a growing number of professional artists and arts educators who call the area home.
