🚀 We’re thrilled to celebrate the opening of the new Home Telecom STEM Lab and the opportunities it will create for kids in our community to learn, explore, play, and discover. Join us on August 20 from 5:30-7:00 PM for the ribbon-cutting, STEM activities, lab tours, and a Rocket League tournament! A big thank you to Home Telecom for investing in our community and helping make this new space possible. 💚

Science has never looked cooler in our brand new Home Telecom STEM Lab! 💻

Join us on Thursday, August 20th, for the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for our newest addition to the Rollins Edwards Community Center. Not only can you expect to get an inside look at the STEM lab, but you can also expect to find some fun STEM activities and enter into an esports Rocket League tournament.

Ceremony starts at 5:30pm with speeches followed by other planned activities from 6pm to 7pm. We'll see you there!

We are honored to announce the launch of Summerville Remembers: The Chris Celiz Memorial, a collective effort to build a permanent tribute to a Summerville native son and Medal of Honor recipient.

Sgt. 1st Class Christopher Celiz, a Summerville High School graduate, tragically lost his life in 2018 after courageously shielding a medical evacuation helicopter and its crew from enemy fire.

The Summerville Parks Foundation, in partnership with Dorchester County, the Town of Summerville, and Sculpture in the South, is entering the final phase of fundraising for a bronze statue to honor his legacy at 500 North Main Street. We have already met 40% of our $250,000 goal and are inviting the community to help us raise the remaining $150,000.

Every gift helps ensure his legacy of "service before self" remains a visible inspiration for future generations.

🚨EVENT UPDATE🚨

Due to projected foul weather this Saturday, we've had to move our Ribbon Cutting to this SUNDAY, May 3rd, 1pm to 3pm.
We'll still have shaved ice, face painting, and all kinds of fun to enjoy in addition to the new playground. Just stay indoors on Saturday when the rain comes and come out on Sunday, 1pm to 3pm, for the fun. Ribbon cutting ceremony will begin around 1pm and then activities will begin shortly afterwards.
