🔧 Master Your Ride with Lowcountry Bicycles! 🚲

We are still buzzing with excitement after an absolutely incredible bike maintenance class! A massive shoutout to one of our amazing local partners, , and the shop’s owner, Matt, for hosting such a fantastic hands-on session for our Bike/Walk volunteers!

We covered all the essentials—smooth shifting, bike cleaning, and the ultimate lifesaver: fixing a flat tire! He even provided snacks and drinks, opened the store after hours, and made some sales for some of the essentials he showed off! Every single person walked out feeling confident, empowered, and ready to care for their own ride! 💪 🚲

We want to give a massive, heartfelt THANK YOU to Matt for going above and beyond by opening up his shop on an off day just to teach this class for us! He truly cares about our mission and constantly find ways to support what we do to make Summerville safer and more accessible for everyone!

🕊️ A Powerful Evening: Reflecting on the Ride of Silence
On Wednesday, May 20th, our community came together for one of the most meaningful events of the year—the Ride of Silence. Moving together as one, we rode through the heart of downtown Summerville in profound stillness to honor the cyclists who have been injured or lost on our roads, accompanied by Summerville Police Department and Berkeley County Sheriff's Office Bicycle Teams, with Dorchester County Emergency Medical Services providing medical assistance. Summerville Mayor Russ Touchberry spoke about the importance of the public being involved and FCA Dorchester for blessing our ride with prayer.

The turnout was nothing short of incredible. 75 riders lined the streets, creating a powerful, undeniable visual presence. We were deeply moved to have six young children join the pack, reminding us all exactly who we are fighting to protect when we advocate for safer streets. Together, as a silent collective, we showed Summerville that bicyclists are here, we share the road, and every single life matters. ✊🏼

An event of this magnitude takes a village. Thanks to your overwhelming generosity, we raised $1,400 to make this impactful ride possible. Your support goes so much deeper than a single evening—it proves you believe in our core mission: we want to make the town of Summerville streets safe, accessible, and welcoming for all riders and pedestrians.

With South Carolina being the #2 worst state for bicycle fatalities, it cannot stop here. We must continue to push for infrastructure that prevents bicyclist and pedestrian fatalities so that everyone can make it home safely. If you want to help us turn this momentum into lasting change, please visit our Take Action page. Discover how you can make your voice heard, advocate for safer street designs, and help us protect our community.

🚴‍♀️ Incredible Day on the Trails!🌳

Our latest ride was an absolute blast, filled with laughter, winding trails, and the unbeatable camaraderie of the group! We aren't just pedaling for the views. Every time we hit the trails, we are riding with a purpose:

‣Community on Wheels: We don’t just ride side-by-side; we build real friendships. This is a space where every casual rider of all ages and abilities belongs, laughs are mandatory, and no one gets left behind.

‣Exploring the Lowcountry: We're trading the highway for the scenic route. There’s no better way to discover the hidden gems, beautiful trails, and unique charm of the Lowcountry than from behind a set of handlebars!

‣Fearless Riding: Roads and trails can be intimidating, but you don't have to tackle them alone. Together, we practice the skills that take you from "nervous beginner" to "confident commuter."

A Heartfelt Thank You ❤️
This ride wouldn't have been possible without the incredible team of volunteers who dedicated their time, energy, and enthusiasm to keep us safe, organized, and motivated. We are so incredibly grateful for your support—you are the heartbeat of this community!
