Good morning! Here is your much anticipated update. Pictures in the comments
Miss Zoey had her emergency c section and spay last night.
She is lucky to be alive this morning 🥺
The two puppies that were still in utero had been deceased for a while and were mummified/decayed. The puppy the was stuck in the canal was removed and she had previously delivered one still born. The puppies were large which is why she couldn’t pass them herself.
Her white cell count was incredibly low, she is at serious risk for infection with the condition the puppies were in. We are hopeful that with the removal of her uterus and a strong course of antibiotics that she will make a full recovery.
Her blood sugar was low, but bloodwork is being rechecked this morning.
She is on pain meds, anti inflammatory meds we just need her to eat 🥺
The game plan is to get her healed and healthy and we will get her fully vetted with vaccines and preventatives.

11pm update: There are still 2 puppies still in utero. They were unable to find heartbeats on ultrasound . They are checking bloodwork and taking her in for an immediate c section/spay. 😭 we need to raise 4k-5k in donations.
We Recieved word that this poor girl has a puppy stuck in the birth canal and has a fever. She also delivered a still born yesterday.
We are so thankful for our friends at VEG ER Leesburg for seeing her.
We will need funds for a C-section, X-ray, exam and likely other things.
Any amount helps this poor girl get the care she needs.
